Title: starting with aerial photography !!
Post by: Pikle6 on May 02, 2010, 01:31:51 PM
hey guys i am just about to start with my aerial photography passion that recently developed

the steps are:

1. basic 720*480p video recording
2. as i have many gyros with me making a camera stabiliser system and plane stabilizer system too
3. after i perfect all of my these goals i am going in to FPV

fpv is my primary target and i have been doing a lot of research on them lately

anyways guys my first step investment is done and i have ordered a 14 gms 720*480p video cam resolution matters a i want good quality videos

so first step ofcourse get myself a super stable plane (like a glider) or make a stable plane super stable

so this is the plane i went in for

the easyfly rtf glider from hobby city

after reading the reviews this was my second choice after the axn floater jet which was out of stock

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=7895 (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=7895)

well i have to change the esc and have to test servos as per the reviews recommendation but i beleive it will be fine

yes it is a multiplex easyglider's clone

and then i have also ordered a video recorder for the job

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=10973 (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=10973)

and acc. to rcg and the hc reviews it will be good i presume

so just ordered this and a couple of ducted fans for gaurav bhaiya from hc through ems on friday morning and hence hoping to maiden it this saturday or sunday

Pikle6, I pray that you receive your package in 5 days.

Not trying to hi-jack your post   ;) But, can you please please please please please inform  "sriharishine" and me when you receive your HobbyCity/HobbyKing order?  :help:

I have placed an order on 6th April via EMS express that was shipped on 16th April and should have reached Kolkata, India by now. Online tracking has been showing "The item left Hong Kong for its destination" for the last 2 weeks. However, HC/Hk is telling me to continue waiting as due to the volcano in Iceland there are severe backlogs of cargo to all countries.

Thanks,
Ritesh

Congrats Subbu,
Do you have to go to customs office in Mumbai to collect your package ? If so, then how did you know that they have your package? Today, The HokkyKing people told me (via chat) to inquire with my local customs.

Nonethless... I am :) for you.

hello to all the people here on india's premiere forum

MY COURIER FROM HC HAS ARRIVED

alright when i said in the earlier post that i might not have to pay customs and all that was actually a mistake the ems centre in india actually did a goof up and gave me some other consignments status so

yesterday i was supposed to get my parcel but i was hit by severe cold so well as i was grounded i asked my dad to get me the
plane and here i have it today in my hand and yeah he did pay 1100 rs as customs and i had declared 100% value to due many wrong invoice cases just to be on the safe side.

so everything is set ans i will post some pics today and yes i have made an unboxing video too

god soo many things

hang on guys uploading them now you really dont want to miss this

you possibly meant subbu  ;D ;D

i will give you a guideline for ordering though you have ordered many a times but getting big parcels out of customs could be a trouble

1. please declare the total value that is 100% because recently many big couriers were siezed due to wrong invoices

2. please order only through ems for planes and big items i literally got the plane on the fifth day of my order (excluding the three chinese holidays)

3. there is no such thing as bribing or just faking to a customs officer, they know a lot about model aeroplanes
so just be truthful and if its for a school project mention it they give you some deduction on the customs

that is about it so godd luck i had talked to hobbycity people (and yes they very helpful) regarding axn floater's stock and they said that it would be restocked by end of may or mid june

good luck

COOL!! It would be fun holding a plane taller than you, even when you already made one youself!

Be careful putting the Decals if you are doing it for the first time.... watch some Videos

It must be very hot in Mumbai this year... I can see your AC running at 22* - my fav temp setting  ;D ;D

if its ok to share.

hey not a problem

i think my dad paid about 13 or 14% custom charges or less

but the good thing was that they were not bothered by seeing an rc airplane in the box just as if it was allowed

and also not worried about the small video recorder

How you have mounted the Cam in the model? Any pics showing it?

Congrats Subbu for the maiden and good first video!
If you so much liked forward looking FPV, you should have waited for AXN like me  :P :P

With your plane, the prop is spoiling the view. Try mounting the camera facing back so that you get obstruction free vid.
Did you try cutting the throttle and just gliding ? this would give you video without th prop for short duration, before the time you need to fire the engine again.

Great feat!! keep it up!

Even I got my Mini Cam form HC today in the office.. one guy brought a cheapo EP RC car and we had fun spying Manager cubes (annual review time)... The date seems to be the initial date of the cam. To change the time, I tried what is written in the manual (creating TAG file) but it did not help.

Even though the camera rates at 30fps and they have shipped Sandisk Micro SD (duplicate), the video is snappy and looks much less than even 20fps. would check...

Subbu, what is your review for the cam ?

hi i will put the mounting pics tomorrow as i have to get going with the repairing of my slowstick now

Congrats Subbu for the maiden and good first video!
If you so much liked forward looking FPV, you should have waited for AXN like me  :P :P

With your plane, the prop is spoiling the view.

actually i have two axn's on the field which i can use so i thought a different plane would be better

well yes it was the maiden so i did not glide as much but did a big first maiden flight
also i had to trim it and all try other things like a loop which you can see on the video 8-) 8-) 8-)

tomorrow i am doing video's with the came facing back and sideways tooo  ;D ;D

What's up with the 2/29/2008 in the video :headscratch: ;D

anwar bhaiya the camera's time needs to be adjusted using a tag file which i have not yet figured out how to do

Subbu, what is your review for the cam ?

well i found the cam quite good and worth it mine was a real sandisk card and video recorded at 30fps and the quality is outstanding the video i uploaded still can be viewed in 480p the original hd video was 800mb   :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

any more help please do ask
