SUBBU

Hey guys as I promised I would do a review on this beauty and here it is before we move on yes I have the video.
Let’s begin

First
Let me just thank sai uncle for making these shock flyers available to us.
And of course all my friends on the forum and on the field for encouraging me to do this review I am thankful to all of you guys.  Smiley Grin Smiley Smiley Grin
And now finally we move on to the review first of all the specs

Wingspan - 80 cm
Wing area – 400 sq. in.

Electronics  configuration

Build

TECHONE PULAMA EPP SHOCKFLYER REVIEW

The build’s difficulty can be rated between hard and moderate. That is moderate if you have the stock and recommended item and hard if you don’t.
Let me take you through the process ---
First mounting the motor for any other motor other than the recommended one or the one sai uncle sells specifically for shockies you will face a problem that is easy enough to fix. You have to first put an x mount on to the motor and then screw it on to the plywood mount. It could be resolved if the fuselage had a monobloc. But anyway the motor aligns perfectly and I appreciate people at techone for doing their job well. Also for bigger motors you may have to cut some epp to get the wires to be routed perfectly.

TECHONE PULAMA EPP SHOCKFLYER REVIEW

Second – hinging.
Tough the first time, easiest the next time.
The manual says to sand a 45 degree bevel but I recommend you cut a 45 degree bevel as epp does not sand well
Moving on to hinging if you observe the hinge line first you will see small holes and that’s where your hinges go in as these hinges are connected at the center and that is the place which should drop into the hole.

TECHONE PULAMA EPP SHOCKFLYER REVIEW

Well the first one or two hinges are difficult but then you get each dine in about 2 minutes each.
I strongly recommend using hot glue wherever possible other than for placement of carbon rods.
Third – carbon rods placement
It is pretty simple to do this just cut the cf rod accordingly and USE ONLY CA GLUE HOT GLUE WILL NOT WORK NOT EVEN EPOXY.

Fourth – sticking it all up
Now comes the easy part stick everything accordingly only in the elevator section you first need to insert the rear portion and then the forward part

Finally assemble the electronics as per instructions as it is very simple just take caution while you are making pushrods be sure to get them tight.
End of build and enter the flight review.

Firstly this plane has to get perfect cg balance to fly level. And be sure to put you battery on the right side or tape some 1 rupee coin under the right wing as this plane keeps torque rolling to the left and once you have got the correct cg and wing balance (you really have to launch the plane to find it out).
Some 3d please -- - - -
This plane is one of the best ones to hover and loop and not one of the best to roll. Knife edges are easy too.
The plane does not roll good at slow speeds without speed brakes.
This plane responds to rudder inputs very very nicely.
Well I had to throw it as my landing gear holes were misaligned.
Is it for beginners??
This plane can be flown by a beginner if he/she has flown an aileron trainer (anyone) but only on dual rates. But no 3d yet.
One thing I love about this plane is its loop ability and how well it recovers from it.
Finally here is the video of the flight and also the manual(which I highly recommend that you download as the one which come with the kit is black and white.

TECHONE PULAMA EPP SHOCKFLYER REVIEW

Pluses –
Excellent flight characteristics
Excellent 3d capability
Excellent crash resistance and strength
Minuses—
Techone hobbies will not give you even one control horn extra than required also the plain wire for pushrods is also small in length and many other accessories are limited other than cf rods
The manual could have been more illustrated and in coloured version
Finally if you have any question please post them here and I will answer them right away
