Hi all

this is my first build log , though not as detailed as the other logs are thats because I dint capture images at different stages and thought of this write up only after a successful maiden.

i am pretty new to this hobby and I built FT flyer as my first plane, it did fly but since I am new and had no prior experience of flying in any form I crashed in few seconds of flight. In the process i must have broken at least a dozen props.
So I thought of building a pusher where the motor and PROP are safe to a great extent.
I came across this EZFLY plane (built from EPP foam ) at RC groups and decide to make a scale down version of that.

Since I had previously built and flown and crashed the FT FLYER I chose to use dimensions close to FT FLYER and similar relative positions for the wing and Horizontal stabilizer.
with 80% scale down I decided on a 24inch wingspan, 12inch chord, 22 inch fuselage and 10inch by 6inch Hstab.

The wing is a simple rectangular shape with wing tips bent to form a polyhedral.i have a used a KFM2 40% step for forming the aerofoil.

The fuselage is a made by gluing three peices of 6mm depron foam cut in shape of a airplane body.
A 3.5 inch deep slot is cut in between to give space for the propeller.

I added drawing pins at the nose of fuselage to protect it damage in case of nose dive crashes(Which i will make for sure  Grin Grin Grin).
The pins also helped in getting the CG in right place without having to place the battery at the nose tip.
I have used a emax MT 1806 2280kV motor along with a 7 X 3.5 prop to power this plane, battery was 500mAh 2S.
I did a maiden flight yesterday evening and it given the wind the model flew pretty well.
attached below are few snap of the plane and youtube link for the maiden video.

@learner,
Well done!
Nothing succeeds like success.
You might like to try a little nose weight and/or a little downthrust.
And using less control throws and less throttle.

(I wish more beginners would take the trouble to make a neatly finished model like you have!)
Regards.
