Title: Twin motor anti stress machine
Post by: wingmanbunty on March 17, 2017, 10:11:21 PM
Dornier Do 335 inspired modification in antistress machine (that is my rc plane)

Although my airplane looks like high wing trainer but the hole idea inspired by do 335

the Do 335 possessed great potential as a combat aircraft, but never got the chance to prove itself. Delayed by high ranking indecision and Allied bombing raids, it simply ran out of time

Material used :-
1.   Ordinary thermocol sheet  for wing construction
2.   Bamboo spars for fuselage and wing strength
3.   Cycle spoke for elevator
4.   Fibre tape used in cricket bat protection

Electronics  :- thanks rc bazaar for providing all the electronics
1.    Avionics 9 grm servo  Qty =2
2.   Avionics brushless motor M2230 1780 kv
3.    Ford Car electric wiring for extension
4.   Wolf pack 25c 900mah lipo battery 2 cell 7.4 volt  qty =2
5.   Avionic rcb 7 x  radio
6.   One Y connector for connection between two esc
7.   Esc  avionics 20 qty =2
8.   Plastic  counter rotating props 8045 props (thanks vivek ji)
(tractor and pusher motors are arranged counter rotating to reduce torque and a clean flow of air on wings , also i want speed with this 2s setup)

praposed layout plan

this looks interesting, am assuming that both the props are rotating in the opposite direction (to balance the torque along the roll axis ) , however, are you using some kind of mixing the front and the rear motor??

Something to match their RPMs , or is it even needed?

good luck bro

Yes sir both the propellers are rotating in the opposite direction to counter the torque, i am testing the thrust produced by both  the motors .

I am testing the individual motor thrust ,i do not  have pictures the of individual test of the motor , but i am posting some pictures and video

using my old aircraft as reference for electronic setup

 Coro sheet cutting parts

each motor is producing 300 grm of thrust and the weight of the airplane is going to be approx 500 grms

cool, what are you doing to match the motor RPMs??

connecting both the motors to the same esc in parallel?

Sir i am using 2 esc

some pictures of sections cutting

the three long cutting surface are supported by bamboo spars and goes from the center hole of the elevator to provide strength .

Cutting of elevator section, use of bicycle spoke band for the elevator control surface

Thanks nitesh
Thanks sanjay sir
Its always inspiration watching your build log sir , individual motor is producing 300 grms of thrust and airplane all up weight is approx 500 grms , so good power in hand with this 2s setup , very soon i am planning for maiden flight .

some pictures of the aircraft , the landing gear is temporary fitted just for ground testing it is not final it may seem propeller touching the ground , not enough ground clearance ,

i am planning to make first test flight without landing gears , the nose section also seems little bit too long and the wings are almost
half way , because both side ie front and rear have equal amount of weight (motor , esc )i manage to put both the batteries to the front section of nose as far as i can move ,

i had done some glide test on the airplane , long nose does not seem any issue ,

the purpose of the project is to get some speed with this 2s setup

lets see what happen in maiden flight .

Hi,

Good design effort, if this is built for speed. Then why the undercambered wing??
Your wing looks more of a glider type design. For speed models a swept wing or delta wing is most preferred.

Pls see details of this model here

yes sir

i agree  it should have fully symmetrical airfoil profile for good speed. with aileron controls, it also lack 3s setup that could make huge difference , i am
also using 8045 props (its quardcopter props)  :giggle: :giggle: ,

i am not good pilot , i will be happy if it fly good.
