RC India - Flying and racing with open minds !

If you are doing night flying for the first few times or if you have a brand new night flying setup, it helps to start flying with the lights on around dusk when there is a little bit of natural light still left.  It should give you a good idea about the visibility of the plane in various orientations, and allows you to bail out earlier if you see something that is undesired.

The video below illustrates this, but he has way too many lights on his plane.

It makes sense to put lights at the top and bottom, but with different colors to help identify whether you are flying upright or inverted.  Something like these ones.

If you fly close enough, you do not need many lights, just a few single ones around the strategic points.

PS: The real treat in night flying are helis with lights on their main blades, it is really fun to see the "disc" made by the rotating lights  Tongue

Yep Grin  Some of the comments are hilarious !

The bunch of friends Santhosh has (and from what I saw, they are not into RC except as spectators), are a great group of people. The always seem to come to flying sessions, and are a great encouragement  Clap

Anwar What set up would recommend for a reasonable lit up plane for night flying. Can anyone suggest a link of Hobbyking for buying the same?
It is for a basic foamie Mini V images are on a new thread
