it is nearly all done except for the servos installation

i plan to paint in red bull air race slick theme later

hey guys i maidened the yak today and it flew really good

first flight i had to trim the aircraft to counter the left bank  and landed in a few minutes . in the second flight after 3-4 minutes of flight i landed it and rolled out onto the rocks behind the ground. the speed was slow hence only the motor came of the mount.

here is yesterdays pre flight video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZTRwh4P9KI

went to fly alone today so no video yet anybody coming to airoli patni centre ground this saturday or sunday would love to fly there again and have someone help me take the video of the yak, might as well bring the easyfly glider.

Subbu

ps Fanwing is coming up a bit slower will try to put up some pictures tomorrow

Nice video - i hope the rough landing did not harm the electronics

just checked yesterday night the motor is perfectly fine with another esc

but the original esc powers up the receiver and the servos but doesnot run the motor so i have to replace it with a spare thats pretty much it.

i got the frame back together yesterday itself

hi saurab this is the 32.5" edition from here http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=964237 (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=964237) on post no 2

saurab as if you are an absolute beginner this might not be the one you would want to start of with. but you can begin with this aircraft if you have achieved the following.

1 - lots of simulator practice (very very important, i still try to practice rudder usage while the plane is coming towards you or inverted it really does help)
2 - the plane is very sensitive , in the above video i flew the whole time with flaps on that made the plane glide very very smoothly
3 - use dual rates (they limit the extent of your control surface movement)
4 - maiden with a pilot with a little experience, if you live near belapur i might be able to help you you may call me on 9833036737

next week if rain permits i shall bring my easyfly beginner glider if you have done some practice on the simulator i could help you control it once it is in the air

No sir , I dont hav any experience of flying, even on sim also , but i hav built Blu baby 24" sleeping in my house since 5-6 months  :giggle: n little modifications are to b done like wing dihedral, prop size etc etc .
here is the link:

And i stay at bhandup quite near to Airoli ( patani gnd ).

i saw the plane its looks nicely built you can start off with that itself just use the suggestion to get the correct prop size, i have build the blu baby it flies great without the dihedral so dont worry about that since the auw is quite less we might want to have a very calm day.
just prep the plane since its been lying for so long  for eg - charge the batteries check all controls and do a range check and the plane should be ready.

if possible try and get some simulator experience also which tx/rx do you use

just had two nearly perfect flights today.  ;D ;D

flight report - first flight as usual i took with flaps engaged and sajit bhaiya(raja_mastana) launching me into the air did a couple of left pattern circle's and landed. while landing the aircraft slammed a bit hard so the rudder gave way slightly from the hinge point. a small carbon rod and electric tape did the job

second flight - winds were very high we were on the verge of cancelling this flight but then we just took off again with flaps and it flew beautifully in the wind and a perfect landing. (ameet bhaiya clapped for me for my landing :) )

videos of first flight were only taken after takeoff will upload in the evening
