I have seen the black and white type. For that you just have to power the receiver via externally and connect the ESC normally. I mean connect the ESC with the throttle channel in the receiver and connect an external power source to the power pins in the receiver. This should solve your problem. And for the first case I don't know how that works.

No it's not max value , it's just what normal receivers need and what most ESC with inbuilt bec provides.

But there are many difference in the power needed for the receivers of different brands
Look at the manual of the receiver you got and buy a UBEC that is compatible.

No, it's better to use something around 5.5V, so that you don't destroy your 1 grand ESC. Get a voltage regulator and set it up; no worries.

Bro believe me , using bec is 10x better than batteries in the long run. As the output voltage of a battery is always varying and may damage your receiver in the long run
. The best thing about UBEC is that you only need one as long as you fly one at a time.

Ouch....I think I fried my Rx...here is what happened...
I connected the Rx to a 3.7 volt lipo..it was working fine ...I just wanted to test so that motors could be soldered correctly...
Then my setup was ready..I wanted to save weight so instead of using a external lipo I connected the Rx to the balance leads of the main battery to which the esc was connected....
Short circuit smoke...rip 1000 bucks..😥😥

Broo 3.7 v decreases the sensitivity of the receiver thus decreasing the range and also the servos will be underpowered
