Title: How to adjust the throttle range?
Post by: PankajC on February 06, 2011, 05:06:29 PM
Folks,
This is the problem.
I have 2 electric setups -
1)   TowerPro BM2408-21T / 18A BEC / 9x3.8 Prop Combo with  Spektrum AR6200 Rx on a 3S1P
2) TR 28-30B 14A 1050Kv / Towerpro H40A ESC/ 10x5 Prop with Orange Rx on 3S1P

Situation is that in the first model, the throttle range is almost linear, in in the second setup, the wattage (hence the speed?) kind of reaches its peak at about 70% of the stick and the last 30% seems to have no effect. I have tried throttle range setting a couple of times, but no improvement

So, what could be the problem and how to make the range linear across the movement of the stick?

Have you tried mixing and matching things ?

Usually, if you let the ESC learn the max throttle setting, this should not be happening.

Try changing the ESC and the receiver.

Hello  Pankaj,
Even I used Towerpro W30A esc with Turnigy and Dys motors. The result is same. The throttle works only 70% (with Futaba 6EX). tried so many times to adjust throttle by selecting EPA and programming but it remains same.
Then i read the reviews and feedback given by other customers in HK, some of them have the same data.

Pls go through  this link http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbyking/store/product_reviews.asp?idproduct=658

I don't know but I think the towerpro products are at this range & ratings.

You pls try and if you get solution pls don't forget to inform us.

Thanks.
Avishek.

Seem to have stumbled on the solution

1) Rebind the Rx
2) Get in the ESC programming mode and Reset the ESC to factory default
3) Set ESC throttle range

This appears to have solved the problem as I am getting a near linear response
