How does one select the AWG of silicone wire for brushless motors and LiPo batteries? (Feeling too lazy to google this out  Wink ...)

14AWG or 12 awg can be used in most models. In a ESC, 12AWG wire is used. On Turnigy/Zippy 2200mah 3s 20C, 12 awg is used.

Thanks!
What about the 20 AWG one? Is it used in motors?
Is there a chart for selecting silicone wires for a particular device?
Also, how can we determine AWG from the diameter of the wire?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_wire_gauge

The wire depends on the amount of current being drawn.I agree with Anam on 12 AWG wire,Its good enough.

Though one may calculate the maximum current capacity or a particular gauge wore, common sense would tell follow the trend. Say your Motor pulls Max X-AMP, I would look a an ESC which has slightly  higher current capacity and to extend motor wire , use wire of similar gauge used on the motor side of ESC. Similarly to extend LiPO leads, I would use wore of same gauge put on the battery side of ESC.

20awg will be very thin... It is not used in ESCs rated >18A. Avoid mixing the wire gauge. A lot of heat will be generated at the junction. I would recommend that you use 14awg or 12 awg. I use 14awg on 99% of the models.

I'm not aware of anyone in 'nagpur' selling RC stuff. You won't get any rc parts in the shani-mandir electronics market. Why don't you try the online stores?
