Guys.. a small doubt.. I want to buy the following motor

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=2046

I want to use a 1000mah 25c lipo on it... Will the lipo get spoiled if i use this motor on the lipo??

As the motor rating is 25amp max.. will the lipo (mentioned above) provide this much amp?Huh??

That battery should be fine for that motor. If you have a wattmeter, start with an 8x4 prop and see what you have. If your plane is 500 grams, 125 watts should make it a real fun flyer.

Have fun...Wayne

The motor is max power output 200Watt and max load current is 25amp..

The lipo can supply 1A*25c= 25amp (i guess)...

But is it safe to use lipo just equal to the max load of the motor???

A bit higher mAH or C may be good/recommended.  End of the day, it all boils down to either throttle control, OR even better, just measure the draw with a wattmeter.

I second to that. It is advisable to have a min gap of 5C between the max discharge rate and the actual max current being drawn. This will ensure that the battery is not overloaded and does not swell or become hot. Hence increasing the life of the battery. Recommend battery would be 1000 mah with 30C discharge rate (constant) or a 1300 mah (25C)

BTW, I have been using this motor on 8040 prop. It will draw close to about 180Watts on a 3 cell fully charged lipo (i.e close to 15 amps ONLY). Overall a Good motor. Looking at the consumption of the motor i.e. 15 amps, guess the battery with 25C (1000mah) should do...

What ESC are you planning...? I recommend a 25 Amps ESC which also comes as a combo.

I have a 30amp esc...
The thing is, I have a 2200mah 20c lipo.... but if i use this motor and lipo then my plane is gona be nose heavy....
Anwar bhai had told me to stick coins or nuts etc to the tail section.... Is there any other way i can solve this situation???
If there is no other solution then i would just buy the motor as i have 2200mah lipo and 30amp esc...

Since you have not mentioned the model on which you plan to put this motor on, I am assuming you are using this on an aerobatic model. Actually, it all depends on the flying characterstics of the model. I have a friend of mine who is using a 2200mah 3 cell lipo (20C) on a slow stick with the same motor and a 25 amps esc. It works great. Since it is a slow flyer, it is not a problem. But for sure you will not be able to do 3D with this battery.

Sticking coins is just countering the weight where it is not possible to change the location of the battery or other limitations exist. I however feel that adding extrernal weight should always be avoided in order to balance the CG as the motor has to anyway work harder to carry that extra weight. Extra weight in very small quantities is ok, but should be avoinded and compensated by moving the battery pack. As far as possible try relocating the pack to balance CG.

Another motor that you may look at, is the 2822 which is almost the same power (infact more) and is cheaper than the TPro.

@ Saurabh... I have see this motor but i am conserned abt its quality...
I will put this motor on a Cessna... So no 3d... There is no room to move the lipo to adjust the cg... If i need to adjust the CG with out any external material i will have to change the lipo and get a lighter low mah lipo i guess...

I have used these motors on multiple foamies, mostly on full 3D ones.  A few have an issue with magnets not being firmly fixed, which you have to deal with yourself (and this is already discussed here).  The ones I have come across  (about 8 so far now) had no problems at all, and work great !

The Tower Pro combos are a great value for money. Sure there are many many better quality ones, but these work well in my experience.  If you crash often, cut off the excess shaft length, or their chances of getting bent a much higher Wink

What you really need is a wattmeter, a great one time investment if you are into electrics ! Smiley

I have been using these motors for quite sometime now.. Never had quality issues. Like Anwar said, these are reasonably good motors with good performance and thrust. These are similar to the Emax motors.. You can go ahead n buy them with confidence. Worth the money.

I know...  Wink they are fast sellers. Grin you can choose to wait (set a reminder when they come in stock) or choose the TPRO. Tpro are good like I said. On TPro remove the extra shaft as suggested by Anwar as it is soft steel and bends easily on head crashes.

Buy a Wattmeter as well. It is a very good investment for Electic flyers. You will be able make better decisions on your power consumptions / requirements and choosing power packs.  Thumbs Up

wattmeters cooll... i will get one... about the tpro.. i have to cut of the extra shaft and since i am using a prop saver i need to remove the threads on the motor shaft...

I think with the 22000mah 20c lipo and tpro motor the weight AUW of cessna will be around 800grms... i guess

Go ahead it is perfect for this motor. However, it is card programable, you may want to look at the one which is stick programmable. (if it is in stock Smiley )

Though technically this ESC would be correct....I would suggest you to go for 30A ESC.
This motor will cross 25A if you use prop like 8X6 or 9X6 with higher mAh battery like 2200mAh....or even you use smaller prop then also with full throttle motor will take 22-23A which will make your ESC hot.
So it will be better to use 30A ESC with this motor in order to be on safer side.

 Hi,
For building my electric plane, I planed shop a Odin 2210 KV1200 (Thrust 810 gms) brushless motor from Rcbazaar.

How to choose battery for that.

 It's Specification:
 RPM / V - 1200 rpm
 Cell - 3 cell / 11.1V
 Prop - 10 x 4.6
 ESC - 20 amp
 Weight (approx) - 45 gms
 Thrust -  810 gms

Well anikethan i suggest you do some research. The battery entirely depends on which plane your making, WS,target AUW,Required flight time.
The motor generally requires a 3S batt pack. The Capacity is on you, more the capacity heavier the pack. Your pack discharge for this motor should be around 25-30C a 20C pack is ok too. Seeing all this you have to decide the battery. I can show you 10 different pack you could purchase from but its entirely on you and your requirement. Wink
