Can't see why ESC programming is a MUST for flying.  Kindly elaborate on what the actual problem is Head Scratching

Anwar Bhaiya plane was not starting when i connected all the connection i was not able to able to start the motor i was only able to hear a beep for a sec and the beep stops and motor starts rotating at extremely   slow speed for a fraction of a sec and then stops again it continues and stops. But when i give signal from the transmitter to the receiver nothing happens  neither the aileron  ,nor the motor works
i can see receiver's light glowing
i m not sure about the problems

Have you done your connections properly ?  Remember that the 3 wires in each connection (servo to receiver, ESC to receiver etc) do different things, so you have to connect them with the right polarity. Are your batteries charged ?

Also, which radio are you using ?

And have you seen this : http://www.rcindia.org/electric-planes/normal-start-up-procedure-for-electrics/

No Esc programming is usually required.

Many Esc have a start sequence (like my Great Planes had - throttle Down --> up --> Down) on battery connect... for safety purpose. If you connect the Esc to wrong channel on the Receiver, you would end up this. I had same experience when I first connected the motor to the esc/receiver.

Can't remember if even the other channels (ailerons etc) would not work if the ESC is not armed, or is it just the throttle channel that is affected.

Various steps (which you may have done or not, worth confirming any ways).

1.  For Futaba, you have to reverse channel 3 on the transmitter.

2.  You have to properly bind the Corona receiver to the transmitter.

3.  Try to "arm" the ESC by taking the throttle to high position and then moving it back to low after connecting.

Is it necessary to do a throttle calibration, but that wont cause the problems you are describing. Also make sure all the 3 wires are connected properly to the motor, or else motor will get burnt.

Let us get out of the guessing business on the ESC (whether/how to arm etc), so please tell us the exact brand+model of the ESC.

Hi Rao876,

I know it can be very frustrating when you go on the field and the motor just doesn't seem to start..

Start again and I mean right from re-soldering to all the routine checks..Is the esc sufficient for that kind of motor ? kindly re-confirm..

all the best..
