I have made one plane.i need your help for further electronics.
weight of plane about 120-150g(without electronics).I do have Tx & Rx.
Battery i am havin is 2s 800mAh.I need esc servo & motor selection help.
Is ESC is imp for connecting brushless motor?  Head Scratching
http://homemademachines.webs.com/projectlist.htm
The wing span is 720mm
Length is 680mm
chord length is 120mm
Flat base airfoil is used
for horizontal & vertical stabiliser i have used 3 mm coro
stick is Indian teak
wing made from Thermocol brought from local stationary
First i tried by rubber band power.
it fly 5-6mtr or little more

no iam not ...an esc is very much required to run a brushless motor , also try any motor with a minimum thrust of 400 to 500g ,
before you load on the electronics  calculated and mark the cg on ur model

thermocol wings are very fragile, Learners should focus on a more durable item like EPP

Retreat, Hell!

Hi Rajesh, I just saw the pics on your website. Good build!  Thumbs Up I liked the movable wing.

Like 'hangingtough' said, thermocol wings are fragile. And I think you don't have access to EPP either. Why don't you build a coro wing instead? It is strong and durable. I can tell you in detail how to build a light-weight coro wing if you want to try.

Also, to make the fuselage lighter, drill holes of appropriate diameter along the length of the 'teak-wood' stick. That's always worked for me.

For 3mm coro there is a standard method where you fold the coro sheet on itself and adhere a wooden stick parallel to the leading edge and standing on the coro at 30-40% chord to get a symmetrical-airfoil wing. But you'd get a bit heavy wing.
Instead of wood you can use a coro stick to get an even lighter wing. Coro stick can be built by joining two 1in. wide 4mm coro plates.
Then there is another method which gives even lighter wings if you want a KFm airfoil.

KFm airfoils are really simple designs. I've worked with the first three and they work good. KFm-2 has the second best flight characteristics after symmetrical airfoil. I've attached a pic.

Also, if you want details of the first method, watch the 4th video (i.e part4) at this link: http://www.rcindia.org/beginners-zone/spadstick-build-video-tutorials-(by-draftman3)/

Thanks Swapnil on the KFm airfoils. I have copied that on one of my spads (yet to fly), having got the idea from one of my colleagues but needed some technical data to back it up. Your post did it.
