Title: Need help selecting quadcop motors. NTM Prop Drive Vs Turnigy BLDC motors
Post by: Power_user_EX on May 19, 2012, 01:45:17 AM
So... this is the 1st time I am making a quadcopter and confused with motor selection. After my research I came to know that a low kv motor around 1000kv is best suited for Quadcopters.

After a lot of web-surfing on hobbyking and other sites I am stuck between the choice of any one out of the two :

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__17345__NTM_Prop_Drive_Series_28_26A_1200kv_250w.html (NTM Prop Drive Series 2826A 1200kv)

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__14737__Turnigy_L2215J_900_Brushless_Motor_200w_.html (Turnigy L2215J-900 Brushless Motor)

Also, are NTM Prop driver motors better in Quality than Turnigy motors?

I think Turnigy motor will be good. Low KV and good thrust too, ppls have given reviews used this motor for multi-rotors hence i am guessing this should good.

@satyagupta : The reviews for both the motors are very good on HK. For many quadcopter projects ppl have used NTM Prop drive and suggest it.

Both are good mate so finally it's all up to you. Selection of motor depends on many factors like frame type, purpose of making multirotor, prop type, motor mounting method. If you are going with ntm you will have to order accessory pack, some extras too.
