Title: Opening a Bl motor and converting to VPP
Post by: Pikle6 on May 30, 2009, 09:37:39 AM
hello guys i am posting yet another step by step guide to building your own vpp motor first lets see how to open up a motor.

The steps are to remove a small e shaped clip from the bottom of the motor attached to the shaft.
and then you will see a small gap between the drum and the base
next step is to pull the two apart
done you have a motor ready for shaft replacement

first image - showing the clip you need to remove

second image - to remove the e-clip poke it out with a pen tip or a scissors one blade. it comes out easily ;D

Fifth image - showing the two halves after being pulled out

now before starting with the vpp installation sai uncle can you tell me how to remove shaft from the rotating drum. do i hammer it down actually i saw two black stopper kind of things have a look at this image.

Hey..
Those two black stoppers are grub screws.  Use a correct sized allen key to slowly loosen them..  Once they are loosened / removed, then slowly tap the shaft out.  I REPEAT, TAP IT OUT, DO NOT HAMMER!!  You might break the casing!  Dont ask me how I know though  ;)!!

Nice depictions and guide dude!! Keep it up!!

While taking pics next time, switch on macro mode on your camera.  That would give you much clearer pics at that distance!

thanks sahil and Chan bhaiya now i know everything about grub screws
by the way on to the next step
take the rotating drum part
locate the two grub screws
and loosen the the grub screws by inserting an Allen key. in the pictures i have used my mini screwdriver set with a suitable pin.
after that mark the point on the top of rotating drum on the shaft at the point where it emerges.
then place it on a surface then start tapping the shaft witha cutting plierss circular part or a hammer slowly and steadily then you will notice it coming out.
that's it for now as my VPP setup will arrive in a week and a half until then i will find a hollow shaft and show you how to insert it in

Please don't mind me correcting you, what you describe as an ''e-clip'' is technically termed as C-clip.

I'll be watching the thread for further progress. Good luck, my friend.
