Title: Run a Brushless Motor along with ESC without any remote control
Post by: ATX on October 15, 2010, 12:57:44 PM
Please anybody could provide me the way of driving the Brushless motor @ max speed with an esc without any radio controller or servo tester ???????   (i do not need to change directions, just head directly on with greatest speed possible)

Edit : BTW i'm making a noob boat

You need it feed it a full 2ms PWM signal.  Guess you can build a simple circuit for the same.

I also read recently that couple of projects use just an audio output (from an iPhone in one case) as a PWM signal.  So it looks like it is a matter of finding the right tone.

How about building your own servo tester thingie? The following page has links to both microcontroller based ones as well as 555 based ones.. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=317058

+1 for NE555 based pulse generator would be the most economical. The IC should cost you Rs 10 and another Rs 10 for resistor/cap/Pot . But be advised that it is not the most stable solution. The pulse timing/width may change due to temperature etc.
