hey guys,

what means watt ratings in rc electric motors?
i have turnigy 42-38 750kv motor..runs well..but in specification it says 785w...
i dont know what does it mean?
is it good to have small amount of watt?

i am running this motor on hobbyking epp-fpv..14"x6" prop..2700grms weight..

please answere in detail..

It's synonymous to the watt rating of an electric lamp. For the sake of simplicity consider a bulb rated at 50W. And you normally apply 220V across it. Since power=Voltage*Current, the amps consumed will be 50/220 = 0.22A
Here, the Watt rating of the motor defines the Max. Watts. So if a motor is rated 500W and you're using it on a 3s LiPo (11.1V), choose your prop such that the motor doesn't draw >45A (500/11.1) to keep it safe.
