I can understand the dearth of R/C stuff in the country makes the slightly used/NIB to sell at Cost Price. I couldn't agree more that people should be thankful to buy the Tx at almost what it sells at Towers (+Shipping).

But all due respect, you cannot compare individual sellers like you to Towers who are authorized sellers of vast array of manufacturers(infact they are THE biggest RC seller, much bigger than even HC). There are other things which comes with buying from a retail shop like Towers - after sales, guarantee etc.

I personally know few people looking to buy Tx. May your deal look sweet to them.

dear ujjwal.. i am not a reseller.. i am just selling away my 10 Ch as i decided to buy a 12 ch thinking of futurestic investment... i am not comparing myself to tower or HC.. i just quoted the price for the radio + shipping and dint add any cost for the custom duty or custom trouble... and being a senior modeller u would also agree that the price i have qouted is very decent and good isnt it ? i dont have any derth or financial issues to sell the rasio.. i just want to sell it as some one may be benifited and not require to call it from abroad. and will get it ASAP... and i will shell in some more money and get a 12 Ch.. So if some one buys is its well and good but if no one is intersted i dont have any trouble keeping it to myself...

i still appreceate ur gesture to spend time in writting back to the post..

I fully support the Price Capt, if it is new. Few things don't follow rule of open market like depreciation, when there is an issue of demand:supply or availability, like R/c stuff in India.

I have been shying to ask even $10 off on List price of a Greatplanes ESC lying with me. Even I would like to keep it instead of selling it at Turnigy price..

Just one small suggestion. Try rethink the 6EX price from a starter point of view. Its not 2.4G, so one would anyway spend in putting an Assan/Corona hack, adding to at least Rs 5K. if you sweeten the 6EX deal, I am sure there would be many people who might get interested.

Does the 6EX Tx carry the Servos ? the 6EX is usually packaged with 4x3001 servos.

I didn't want to bring this up but since Ujjwaana mentioned it, it triggered off this response. About 3 months ago, someone had offered a couple of used Helis for sale. I had negotiated prices and had been honest with him that I couldn't justify buying a RC Heli during the financial year end, what with the tax liability around the corner. In fact, I had offered to pay the amount in 3 installments (via PDC's) so that I don't feel the pinch. Seller agreed, however, he said he will despatch only after the 2nd. Installment reached him. Since I had bought from him earlier I felt that wasn't fair. I do realise that from his point of view, as a seller, it was his prerogative. I didn't pursue the deal and it fell through.

I once again picked up the thread and offered to buy the Helis from him last week (full payment, cash in advance) and he flatly refused to sell at the old price and now he wants exactly the double! I have promised myself never to approach this person again. In my opinion, what he is doing now is fuelled by greed and can be termed as unscrupulous. However, here again, he is the seller and it is again his prerogative. He mentioned that the Heli is practically brand new and has been flown only twice, but it has been with him for about 2 years. Can such a product warrant the same price as a brand new item?

No names mentioned as that detail is superfluous. No offence intended to anyone, this post is for information only.

Its great you brought this out. Most of the item sold as 'NIB' by individual are on trust basis - Flyer-to-flyer. If any such people try to masquerade fully commercial intent behind the cloak of 'fellow flyer' we should admonish and discourage such people.

Many people here share/disposed surplus items to fellow flyer on 'at cost price' if the item it is new (again on trust) or discount if used. This helps both the parties as the seller gets fund/space for new items and the buyer gets a good deal on used item or gets an item new without waiting it to ship from west/SE  or the LHS to re-stock.

Hope such bad examples don't show up too often.

no worries friends.. i know u dont have any wrong intentions and u r talking for the benefit of the fraternity..... but my 10 CG is brand new never touched. and very honestly i mentioned that 6EX is used for only 10 flights.. and not even the screen gaurd sticker has been peeled off from the 6 EX

Captain, please don't compare yourself to the person in question. That was not my intention. You don't need to justify anything here. I seriously wish I could afford to buy the set myself as it is a good deal.

I am sure the Captain will respond with his own reasons... but here is some food for thought.

Radios with more channels also tend to have more of other features.  If you are hardcore about radio features, there are things that you can do with radios that can help in various stages of flying (there are features that help beginners and there are other features that help pro flyers). Things like "Swash Ring" and "Swash Compensation" are couple of items that come to my mind (being a heli flyer).

i think anwar has come up with the reason.. apart from this it comes usful in mixing the controls... its also used for big planes where u shud'nt connect a Y harness... to come over any possiblity of servo sink..... there are many other reasons to it.......

If its NIB it can rest in peace...

Could you clarify one, important, point?

Is the Rx the newer, silver or gold dot, version?

All the newer Futaba FASST receivers are all higher temperature tolerance (whether they have a dot or not).  All production batches of the R6008HS fall under this category, FWIK.  It is mostly the older "FS" series that is affected.
