Vineet,
"Just fill up the form of any exam and sit without preperation" - your case.

This is caused as you have not practice on simulator.
It costs only a few hundred Rupees. You can buy any analog joypad and can have a try again.

Reading is required for making the plane and practicing in simulator is required to fly the plane. You have not practiced enough.

Else sell it.

Unfortunately this becomes another (near perfect) example of how to NOT start in RC flying :(

With patience, a sim, and visits to local field, this should have been a much more pleasant experience.  There are 1000s in our country who are happily flying... which is a good indicator of where the problem is :(

Kalyan sir is right, getting into this hobby without considering every aspect can be like 'filling up the form of any exam and sitting without preperation'.

Look, don't give-up right now just out of frustration. Maybe sometime later you'll have gained enough knowledge and money to start again.
The learning+construction phase can be very-very frustrating. Then there are problems like lack of money, un-interested parents, studies etc that'll make you lose interest or even hate this hobby.
This happens to most of us (i.e people with light wallets). But once you succeed, your joy will cover every bad experience. Seek for help, be patient and keep your stuff, you'll miss it.

Good Luck . :)

hey vineet....

i know this kind of  feeling...!! but dont give up... what you lack is a good guidance or a good teacher...!!

i accept the fact that this is not a cheap going stuff.. but u can make is as cheap as possible.. i build a .40 size nito plane for as cheep as  :Rs: 500 + the acc (like mount wheels tank and clevises)

let me tell you that i learnt without breaking a model ( still have a clean sheet) and without the help of simulator..!!

you will have to follow the simple rules(learnt from a army officer) OBSERVE, THINK, DO
OBSERVE : what the other person is doing
THINK: on how he is doing
DO: what he is doing

the things i see for sale is a one time investment items . so i would suggest you not to sell them..

Considering the constructing part of aeromodelling.. YES it is as a pain... but it not a rule that you need to complete what you started the same.... i take around 2 months to build a small plane

when you will be in your 70s ... have nothing nothing to do and just wanting the time to pass on.. you will regret sayin... YOU had EVERY THING.. IF YOU had JUST HANGed ON FOR SOME MORE TIME AND FLEW A PLANE .. YOU could BE DIFFERENT PERSON....

and regarding parent issues every one has it( even i do) married people have wife issues (seniors on the forum will agree) and you could have gone out partying with your friends.. but frankly speaking u stand out of the box trying to learn some thing NEW and they dont...!!

MY SUGGESTION : DONT SELL THE ITEMS... AND LEAVE SUCH A BEAUTIFUL HOBBY (:|~ (:|~..!!

YOU WILL REGRET LEAVIN....!  :hatsoff: :hatsoff:

Not exactly. I dint have any help when i started flying. i dint know about the elevator until i spent close to 50000 on different planes breaking all of them. now its been six years and i consider myself a beginner still. it all depends on how easily u give up.well i dont.

PLEASE be cautious with that LiPo.
Swollen LiPos can be dangerous. Don't charge or discharge it. If it gets more 'FATTY', dispose it as soon as possible.

If you haven't come across posts detailing the consequences of using swollen LiPos, please do a google search for 'swollen LiPo battery'.

I gave up this Tx for you and now you want to quit? What a shame! You also expect a third hand Tx to sell for Rs.4100/-, when RC Bazaar is selling a brand new unit at Rs. 4690/-. Wake up, and smell the coffee.

Just curious, what were you trying to build / fly that has left you so frustrated? V.K. will NEVER sell anyone FATTY /Swollen LiPo's. How did that happen? :headscratch:

Hi all,

I dont know how to express and what to say

Respect for you all and love you  for the great experiences you have shared and the zesture I received which was not there at all when I was having trouble in plane building except some guys who personnaly pmed me and helped me by giving pictures   , you know what guys I had earned some money last year by working some where , and what people usually do they buy expensive phones , go and watch movies and etc etc, but I saved the single penny just to buy the hobby which represents me means electronics , engines and all the rc stuff , I know there are many guys over here who have did this or may be worse ,

From past one year I was observing and made by mind that now a time has come that I should start it ,as I dont want to die regreting I didnt do it ,like RC Wish said .

The thing is I went to some fields but the attitude over there for some guys was like so selfish (no personel offence ), they cant even tell you clearly how to do , what to do , may be I met with wrong persons ,they never want to help they want to earn earn, so never went to any field , started by my own alone with my lil bro in near by park , I dont know for what the heck these plastic props could be Rs 100 for one , this whole this decreases my intrest, but not the hope ,

Virtually many guys helped me a lot (means over forum and internet ) and cant say thanks to the as this is not they want as these people deserves a lot like mr  sultan khan and many more genius.

I dont know what to do because this is not I wanted this is what my current situation said , to recover from the great loss, as soon as this stuff is front of my eyes I will be rest less to fly it .

Regards all

All you did is great zesture  Mr VC .

I have never said that vk sir did some thing wrong , he lives near by my house , and I first called him up that I am selling his stuff .

The thing is lipo was not taking balance charging for the first time , charger was saying low voltage , and then I put it on fast charging for some time and then it started taking balance charging .and then it swallows

And regarding the rc bazar they can sell it , and I even took that radio for that price for me and for some one like me 550 rs discount  is a good  amount .

Regards.

Wow ! Probably I had too much expectations about RC fields in general.  I can assure you that if someone walked into our fields (here in Qatar, unfortunately), people will help someone get off the ground, even if they themselves could not fly even once for that day.

I am sure there are good people, bad people and good but busy people in every field.  I wonder if you ran into only the bad apples :(

I would urge you to reconsider, and take the help of people who already offered they support here (like Hellyflier).  Not sure about the logistics about you being able to meet these people, but I am sure your perception and decision will change.

You have to go for pusher type so that prop braking cannot reoccur.

I suggest Extra 300 like plane little modified so that prop can be saved.

A Rough sketch is given herewith.CG can be adjusted by battery positioning. If the plane is made with Coro insted of Foam, it should be almost undestructive I think. This should be my next model inspired from Rohit. Just keep the prop small and take a higher KV motor. This is because the prop periphery has to be covered by fuselage and wing of course.

Thanks.

Vineet, am new to this hobby and new to RCIndia. If you are still interested, I am willing to guide you step by step to build and fly a plane (preferably a profile Jet or a SPAD). I built my first plane (SU-37 profile jet) and started learning at the field. Within few weeks time, I built an AVISPAD and now I have a nice eDebonair. It took just 3 nights for me to build the Electric Debonair from scratch. My point is, its that easy once you understand the basics of building and flying. Any how, its a good idea to use a sim (FMS, Aerofly etc) where you could use your TR 9x for practice using a standard 3.5mm audio cable. Mean time build an inexpensive profile Jet with ELEVON mix and you are all set to go. Well, this is how I did it with out much external help :D

my suggestion -don,t sell anything..

with spad , u can learn flying easily..
also ready for simulation first....
always think out of box , not out of world.

which field in Delhi you went to? I go to Noida one and there the folks are helpful, but need to ask for help though otherwise folks would would leave you alone. Secondly, mostly in Noida you have nitro flyers and not much of scratch build experience.

But yes, if you want to continue, the following is needed a) time in simulator b) build a plane with flat bottom or UC, but not flat plate c) preferably pusher

Hey even i had problems cos it took ages to be able to do anything - was busy, busy , busy - friends were not free when i had time and vice-versa. So iv kept some stuff and will get back once i start earning - maybe you can do the same if it helps. Dont sell the radio though - its a good one. Actually dont sell anything yet , meet proper helpful fliers and then decide what you want to do. Hope things workout for you :)

After each crash i feel the same. Believe me. I have spent papa's around 20k. It sucks big time. But dont worry. Follow the procedure. Participate in the forum. You'll get through just fine. I am a scratch builder, i could have bought a model and flown. But i wanted to build aircrafts. Just have faith and preparation, most of all do not lose hope.
This is the rough timeline for my rc life
1.After my 11th i got really interested in rc and started googling rc and all related things.
2.Till my first year in college i didnot know how is the motor connected to the rx. what esc or bec is.
3.Then i got into this forum. Posted lots of questions. My first few questions were actually laughing stock, one was what is the prop nomenclature and the other was what is a servo. Kindly enough there were a lot of answers on those threads.
4.Then i got my first tx, from sundaram sir.
5.Then i bought Mr. Moss from sai sir, in the first two days i burnt two Rxs and spoilt one battery and two servos. Because i connected the 3cell battery directly to the Rx, TWICE in a row. After that i got a huge fear of rc electronics. And i looked thrice before connecting.
6.Then i built Mr Moss and it just didnt fly. I never knew why it didnt happen. It rolled out of control, it was under powered and what not.
7.I gave up the hobby for the FIRST time.
8.Then i contacted sai sir and yogiki people to conduct a workshop on Mr Moss in my college and i organized it.
9.Then i came to know why my plane didnt fly. ( over weight and uneven dihedrals)
10.Then i made another spad, rigged it up with lots of things. Which didnt ever leave the ground.
11.Determined that underpower motor was the problem. I got a 12k set from hobby king which included a huge 700gm battery, and a motor with a thrust of over 2kgs.
12.Then i came back home in my semester vacations built a plane with the proper thrust to weight ratio, wing loading and what not. Proper airfoil wings.
13.Went to the airfield to fly and the aircraft nosed up and then pitched down suddenly to crash and destroy the fuse in a million pieces.
14.Then i left the hobby for the SECOND time.
15.Then for one whole semester i only made gliders and got the feel of thrust to weight, control surface areas, sensitivity, airfoil.
16.This time when i came home i decided to give one more shot at it, because i couldnt let dad's money go to waste.
17.so i decided to build one aircraft which you can see on my post called first flight.
18.After one year i build an a/c which can fly. I learnt from each crash, and thats how it came into being.

All the while i kept in mind two things.
1.It will happen one day, keep working.
2.Fly the simulator, it will really give you a feel of the aircraft.

Follow
1.This forum, post questions. I still post questions. Although my lasted one isnt answered yet but im waiting patiently.
2.Youtube, rcpowers and similar.

Regards

Stories Stories Stories......every life has a story...every thing has a story....some are good to listen...and some are bad to listen...
not everybody has a good to here story............
Mine is a bad story too.............but now its a good one....as i think..........
i bought my first R/C plane from Sai long back..when i don't have radio or electronics...i just saw the shape and i got it....there was no one in the YMCA hostel who can help me  or teach me. i fixed my plane and was more happy like a small child...i bought my first Tx set from HK after 3 months....that set was a complete kit with 3 servos, one ESC....tx, rx, charger...neck strap.....
i completed the plane (e-starter) BUT i never maiden it...one of rcindia member, carloz, help me mainden the plane...but unfortunately the tx went bad on my first flight//but i didn't loose my heart like you Vineet. after one month i got my futaba tx a second hand one...AND my RC life started properly..i learned flying on simulator at home as well as in my office as i use to carry my tx to office as well....i think no one here use to carry tx to office as i was doing....
After a while i got some depron and started copying the planes to make my own out of depron..check my very old post...Purchasing was happening from HK, Sai and rotor on a regular basis....i crashed my e-starter, spoiled my electronics in water....simply...fly-crash-rebuild-fly
but not like you....
people take it as a hobby...but i treat this as a professional hobby now...
this is my second wife now..........only for weekends  ;D
i would still suggest like everyone else.....DONT SELL...KEEP IT...TRY FLY AGAIN.......Delhi has plenty of open space to fly.
Best of luck.
Sandeep

Vineet, be patient man. Till you collect money, you can read a bit more. Don't start thinking you've read enough at any point. Read in detail (and try to memorise) about all the electronics you have (particularly LiPo batteries). PM me your e-mail address and I'll send you some good e-books and tutorials on electric aircraft.

If you can arrange a Lipo and props, try the 'Pizzabox' plane made by naatumach (Vaibhav).
I made it last night in only 3 hours! Will try to maiden it today!

Frustration hoga bahut hoga. But its all worth the wait and the work.
Find cheaper props. I found props for 57Rupees on rcdhamaka.
You have coro, i had coro and depron. Sitting idle for 3months. They were kept if front of me, making me realize what i had gotten into. But you'll never get your closure until you make it fly.
Giving up is not the answer, I am not patronizing you, im just telling you that what you are going through happens to a lot of people and i have just come out of it, thats why im excited to share my story.

If you have spare coro. and no props or battery. You can do what i did.
Check out my facebook page. www.facebook.com/naatumach
Open picture albums and go to college and there you'll see all the non-flying planes i made. But all made me learn one thing or the other.
If you really want to make your next one fly i can give you another tip, i will give that to you once you see my facebook images.

One thing I do agree with Vineet is the lack of mentoring. I was banging my head against the wall, till I ran into a post from Divay Puri in Noida and then things changed.

When I had started out about a year back, I had some limited experience in chuck gliders and control level flying (well that was way back in the 79-82) I started by building and trying to take off and fly and learnt the hard way that even with simulator experience, it is difficult for a novice to fly in the field unless shown by some one. I built and broke atleast 4 models before I had Divay teach me how to fly and since then I have had about 20 solo takeoffs and still learning and enjoying

Its like this, what ever we do, there has to be a mentor -every baby learns to walk holding on to his parents, every subject that we learn in school requires a teacher and so on. So why do you think this is any different?

Find a mentor fast and keep the interest alive is my suggestion

Whatever happened is the past now, all I can say is that if you can stick through this tough period then you'll eventually emerge as a winner. And in fact it is good that you don't have the resources now, that means, you will now spend time on the net, googling through tons of information and hundreds of videos on RC, and your only source of flying will be the sim. Believe me, this will eventually help you so much!! The next time you start, you will be much better prepared.

Secondly, I've been in a much worse situation, ending up buying things at twice the price from IHC. And guess what it is our love and passion for the hobby that keeps us all happy even after dozens of crashes(which is an integral part of the hobby!). I bought my first RTF plane after two years in the hobby, and started scratch/plan building only a year back. RCPowers and RCIndia are the source of all my knowledge in RC.   :hatsoff: :hatsoff:

That's my experience too. Messed a radio. Had to wait for a year to start again and so could spend loads of time reading and understanding.
Now I'm glad I waited otherwise I might have ended up screwing more stuff.

Maybe we should do a Potter and have a phrase:
"Help will always be given to those who ask for it"
scrolling at the bottom of the RCI main-page so that people like Vineet don't lose hope easily and attempt to quit out of frustration and lack of help!  :)

Vineet,

Do you know how less cost can be used for RC flying ?

But patience is required. And you cannot throw it by telling as expensive.

It's just a page of paper. Even costs less than a kite (line control) and wireless.

See the tumblewing. It's RC and FLYING too.. . Can you do that. Read
http://www.sciencetoymaker.org/tumblewing/index.htm

Try it. then think, what a grate hobby you are leaving (Thank god, you have changed the mind) just for wrong information that starting RC Flying is costly. ;). It will be mastering may be costly (Everyone tells that he is a student, no one master as there is NO LIMIT in this hobby).

Thanks for your decision.

Wow dont do this. Guess you didn't meet the right persons. When did you actually had a sim training? You dont have any simulator cables ??? . You tried to build and fly a 3D plane with no proper guidence by which you ended up not only with frustration but also lost a few things because you didn't choose the right steps.

Same story could have happened with me or anyone else. I made my first Plane and crashed many times. With the loss of motors, Propellers, ESC and a battery too. Then made again, Managed to order new parts etc.
And It was a matter of the self respect of mine among my friends like they always told me to quit the R/C. My parents are as same as everyone's parents are. You should not quit R/C like this. Not like this at least. What would you tell yourself when someday you will memorize that you spent whatever amount and even didn't flew once in a life. Don't get a wrong impression please. But look at others. Is everyone on RCINDIA, who is flying every weekend, is a millionaire? Most of us, are doing a part time job or a side business to support our hobby. Think of a day when you would tell your children proudly that you did something different that not a normal guy can do. After all we are Aero modelers. The citizens of a nice place like RCINDIA. We have an online forum of our own. And now we have a "WIKI" too. Who other than us has that? And you still think that you have lost your money? We should feel proud as we make a "flying machine" on our own. Who among the people walking in any street can do that?  "Aerodynamics" is a most frequent thought that we have every minute in our minds, As what I think. If you have purchased parts and wanted to get in, then You have it in your mind too.

Really sorry If you or anyone find me rude but Vineet, Its not that frustrating as you feel. It would start to get lot better once you find a good guidance.

Think again.

"On my lacture":  {:)} ....

 >:D

Sorry if its rude.

Dear Vineet, u must be in situation that - " na ye rcindia wale na chain se jeene dete hain na marne dete hain". You must be in such situation, but there are lots of people there most frustrated than u..

Dont lose heart bro.. I am into these since a long time, but never flew successfully.. I get frustrated, but never sell the stuff... as these stuff lying at corner of my room again reminds me to get in when i am overdone with other works.

Sumeet, you said it.... we are different. And that is a wonderful feeling.

Vineet, I bet you have the same feeling deep inside you...all you need is just a bit of patience and time to prove it. We are there to help you.... I just have a feeling that you have already recovered from your broken heart and is secretly practicing on the SIM ;) Well in that case let us build a simple electric plane.. we all support you with the build and fly it soon :D

If vineet agrees shouldn't this thread be closed?
Keeping it open says he is still in the mood to sell.
Closing it means a closure on this thought and moving on to the build or atleast the thought of the build.

Exactly, pulling a thread too much unnecessarily isn't good for its health!  ;)
