"Booked and promised are two things" ?  What do we expect... sending a formal contract on 50 rupees stamp paper ? A "sorry" was said, but not accepting responsibility for what happened even negates that.

It is clearly posted on this thread that the battery is booked for VC.  Hence it is expected based on forum etiquette that it be honored, unless VC voluntarily lets go.

Actually Rohit, you are right on all counts. I deserve that negative rating to jerk me back to my senses. I was a fool to take on a plebeian kid like you. I should have respected my experience and age.

Let me not 'suppress this hobby' any more and feed some of my models to the dogs and then sell the scraps on this forum to pay for my child's education (who is probably older than you are).

-ve feedback would have been justified , if vc would have been paid to me , giving -ve feedback jst for canceling booking without any money transaction is not justifed i guess.

what if i would have lied to vc abt battery , would have said that "battery is dead , checked with meter" or anything like that ??
still would anyone here consider -ve feedback for that justified??

i decided to stick with the truth and told him that battery is given to someone else.

my intentions were to support that person , not cheating or double dealing with you (which never happened).

There is a big difference between the two. But you seem to be blind to this big difference which everyone else here can clearly see.  That is the only issue here.

Anwar Sahab, just trying to establish his age as a matter of curiosity. If he is as young as I think he is, it doesn't behove me to give him a negative rating, in hindsight.

I was about to suggest that same to you.  I am going to remove the negative rating. I hope the seller realizes that bookings are promises, and promises can be broken only with permission from the promised.

selling to someone , or not selling to someone is one's own wish , whatever may the reason be , informing the other person is his duty , which i did , expecting seller to say sry is not compulsory , but i did so also , after all this , giving -ve feedback and raising the issue in public again , just to contempt him , thats justified??

Sure. But making and breaking promises is what VC highlighted, which is absolutely true in your case. Anyone dealing with you tomorrow might have to suffer the same fate. They will stay under the impression that you are checking for shipping options, while you start acting all charitable, without realizing that keeping your word is more important than charity ! It was right for VC to highlight that.

I already made this clear. You informed him, in essence, "that you are not a person who keeps his word, and for that you are sorry".  I hope you understand it now, when I put it that way.

I will make this simple for you. Put yourself in VCs shoes, and it will all become clear to you.  Or ask anyone else who has been on this forum long enough, how you would feel to be bumped off arbitrarily from a deal.

It is better that you realize, admit and try your best not to repeat what you did now. The more you argue, the more awkward and childish you look like.

VC saying he *may* have over-reacted, *assuming* you are too young to realize the importance of keeping your promises. He did not admit any guilt by saying so, he just acted his age.

Doesn't look like he is interested in making amends. In that case, my negative rating was justified. Should I go ahead and reinstate it? His cocky attitude certainly seems to deserve it. Or should I let this slide? What is good for the forum?
