i have similar unit still in the box,different brand name , tested for once , it really effect , you can even use it with 2.4 ghz modem

these units while no doubt boosting the 2.4 ghz signal will also boost noise.

i.e while rssi will increase .... cinr ... signal to noise ratio will also increase.


we are doing largescale wifi control of machinery ... and this is the case in the real
world and will probably apply to rc also

well as saikat said the SNR has to be prefect and its not just the WiFi booster at one end that matters...

the Rx (receiver) sensitivity at the other end is more important as it should have some real good listening capability.

we install long range wireless links in 2.4 and 5.8 Ghz frequencies and we now that the Rx sensitivity is actually very important and at times more than the Tx boosting.

and if the booster goes for a toss while operating (which can happen for various reasons) it will become a signal jammer at the frequency it is operating as it will start creating a lot of errors in the transmission causing you to loose the RC Object control.
