Thanks for unlocking this thread.

This is the right thread to continue the conversation made earlier. The above mentioned boat and this Esc are quite related to each other. I am waiting for the right person and will resume the conversation soon after he joins this forum.

This thread was found locked as of this morning, and was unlocked on request.

In "For Sale", "Wanted" etc, the people who creates threads can lock them...  so can admins.

Sir, that is a very serious matter as I have NEVER locked any thread and I wasn't aware till this moment that it could be done by all members. I was under the impression that a thread could be locked only by the Administrator. Perhaps my account has been hacked? Now i am beginning to get a little worried. You know what I mean.

By the way, how DO you lock a thread that you have started? I know that a poll can be locked, but I didn't find any option on this page to enable me to lock this thread.

I don't understand... this post is in "For Sale" board, so you should see a "Lock/Unlock" button towards the bottom (just above the "Quick Reply" box).

And there is no question of hacking etc.

oh yes. I see it now. Thanks, I must have overlooked it. However, I am still a little intrigued to know that this thread was "found locked as of this morning". Since the products are still up for sale, and since I didn't lock it (didn't know how to, in the first place), then who did?

I did receive a Pm from a forum member this afternoon, requesting me to unlock this thread. Since I hadn't ever locked it and I didn't understand what he was trying to imply, I ignored the PM. I mean, when i followed the link provided by him, I arrived at this thread and I saw the Quick Reply window at the bottom of the page and presumed that this thread, as I had known, WAS unlocked.

Now my question is, who locked it in the first place? Sir, would you, as the Admin, have any records of that?

My guess is that you as the original poster inadvertently locked it (since you did not notice the Lock/Unlock button till now). That does not completely rule out me inadvertently locking it, but chances are remote.

I have no record of it, since this would have happend a long time ago, and we are not keeping too much audit information.

I think I grossly underestimated this circuit. I am now using it to drive 2 X 550 size brushed motors (each weighing 150 grams , Can length 3 inches and Dia 1.5 inches) drawing 6 Amps +, while turning 7 X 4 - 3 blade props. Amazing results!

Video follows.....................

I have no idea what he is talking about. This 'right person' is yet to join the forum and I have no interest in resuming a conversation that never started.

However, here are some pictures of this ESC in use with 2 x 550 sized brushed motors driving 7 x 4 three blade props. For more info, please follow this link : http://www.rcindia.org/self-designed-diy-and-college-projects/lcac-hovercraft-scratchbuilt-labour-of-love/

The above mentioned ESC is made with 2 sets of RFT 2N 3055 Power Transistors and controlled by a 47K Pot, The Forward / reverse is controlled by a small DPDT Switch. I didn’t like DPDT Switch, but is it possible to make a more powerful handmade ESC, say about 300 W with some other Power Transistors ? Although size & weight is not a problem if it is used in rc boats.

VC   sir  Details  about   the ESC  for  single motor  will  be  really  helpful  . . . . . Drool

i am in  real  need  of  a  brushed ESC  for  BOTH   single--motor   and    2motor-set  ...

Your  ESC (For 2 motors)  is  good     Bang Head  unfortunately  I cant afford  for that

Information sharing improves knowledge of both.

ajith,

Look at the circuits. Simple. The heart of the ESC is inside the Servo actuator circuit. Seeing two servos in the circuit that costs Appx 500/-(Taking cheap servo), Other power transistors, boards, connectors takes not more than 200/-. But what about the R&D & Labour cost ? Please note that the manpower cost is much higher due to expert and this is not mass produced.

VC,

You can make the threaded movement of pots by linear pots (Like used in Equalizer) and servo pushrod. That would be more robust I think.

Thanks.
