Title: Old scratch built trainer for sale
Post by: foamybuilder on May 01, 2011, 11:37:43 PM
This was my first trainer which was  built around 1.5years  back when I started the hobby and learnt flying with this.
Multiple carbon fibers are used all over the fuselage, one on midfuse and two on either side. There is no dihedral in the wing, had removed it sometime back.
It had several crashes in the past and have survived.I had not flown this since 3 to 4 weeks after there was some problem with original motor. Have replaced with a new motor and today it flew as expected. Motor can be a bit underpowered to fly with wind, but would be perfect to fly in calm condition.

Below are the specs/electronics used.
1. 1x Emax CF 2812
2. 1x gws Prop 8x4
3. 1x Prop saver
4. 2x servo ( Ruder and elevator only, No ailerons) 9g hxt servo and 5g hxt servo
5. Speed controller ( 18A tower pro  programmable ESC)
6. All control rods are of carbonfiber
Built with 3mm and 6mm depron covered with packaging tape.

Requires:1000-1200mah battery
Attached are the pics of the plane.
Reason for sale: Have many other planes and am not enjoying flying topwingers nowadays and it hurts to dissect the plane to remove just the carbonfiber.
Cant ship this outside bangalore.
Price:Rs 1500/-

Nice plane. Which material you have used for covering..

Wingspan = 44inch, the AUW should be around 500-600grams. I will measure the exact weight and post today.
It is covered with wonder tape( colored packaging tape).
I do not have a cardboard box which could fit in this and that was the reason I told it cannot be shipped. If I find some I would let you know.

Can an aileron servo be attached?

Yes with a single servo it may be difficult, but with two servos you can.
I had flown this with a different wing (built for my cessna build) which had ailerons, it lazily turns even with ailerons.

I tried searching the super market retailers for just one box but none of them are ready to give or they dont have
so packing this and couriering is not possible.   >:(
If you have someone coming to bangalore they can pick this up  :)
