Only 9-10 participants so far? I fear that sponsors/potential sponsors will lose interest due to meagre participation. Posting the Sweepstakes rules again for those who may not have seen earlier: Start date 1st Oct 2016 Closing midnight 31st Dec 2016. Most members would be aware of the background, like 1. Builds started on or after 1st Oct and completed on or before 31st Dec are eligible 2. Build logs have to be posted on the appropriate board, and supported by date proof like newspapers during build period 3. Video proof of model fulfilling its intended purpose to be included in build log 4. Confusion/disagreements, if any, will be decided upon by Admin, ie, Anwar sir There is a sweepstakes, and there is a (performance) competition. This is how it works: 1. All entries (ie, entrant/model combination) go into a list and get a serial number in the list of entries (LOE) 2. The sweepstakes winner will be (at) the serial number produced in the random number generator on random.org by Anwar sir 3. Every entrant/model combo will get bonus entries in the LOE as follows: a. No bonus entry for ARFs b. 2 bonus entries for kit built c. 4 bonus entries for scratch built d. 1 addnl bonus entry for biplane, 2 for triplane e. 1 addnl bonus entry for twin engine f. 1 addnl bonus entry for canard g. 1 addnl bonus entry for pusher h. 1 addnl bonus entry for flapping wings! i. 1 addnl bonus entry for multi hull boat (like catamaran) j. 1 addnl bonus entry for hydrofoil k. 2 addnl bonus entries for monorail l. 4 addnl bonus entries for maglev train 4. Performance competition entries will also be in the sweepstakes and eligible for bonus entries as above 5. Performance competition winner will be best duration over 1 minute for rubber power, 2 minutes for glider (50m towline/ 10m histart), 30 sec for HLG/DLG 6. Though the performance competition is Free Flight oriented, RC IS NOT EXCLUDED! I'll try to post the list of entries for all to see, (and if needed, correct bonus entries etc) before we get Anwar sir to use random.org on it! The prizes sponsored so far are: For sweepstakes 1. 10k worth of goods by Anwar sir 2. 10k worth of goods from rchyper by kumaran sir 3. 5k worth of goods from quadkopter by satya sir 4. An airframe from sanjayrai sir (for best coro?) And for FF competition (performance), 2k worth of goods from any LHS For 1. Best duration over 1 minute in rubber power 2. Dont want to defeat that by overly strict rules. So, the sweepstakes is closed to new entrants. Except for 3 days grace for existing entries to avoid disqualification on tech grounds. But the performance competition is a bit different. The goal was 1. Best duration over 1 minute in rubber power 2. Best duration over 2 minutes in glider (50m towline, or 10m histart) 3. Best duration over 30 sec in HLG/DLG Since there is only one entry so far, The performance competition closing date is extended to midnight 8th Jan Members are encouraged to attempt performance targets even though too late for sweepstakes. Till 8th! Come on guys. No member who can do 30+sec with a chuck? Or 2 min with a towline or histart? If so, i guess 'the times, they are a-changing... First Indoor Nationals planned to be held in Sonepat Delhi NCR in April organised by AMAI. Have been asked to do some planning and co-ordination for this event by AMAI Would be happy if there is a sizeable participation. Planning to keep the events very simple and achievable being a first of its kind event. There will also be demos / wkshps. It will be more an event to create awareness of the challenge and excitement of Indoor aero-modelling. Boss I've contacted you so many times that I'm embarrassed to try again. Over the years, RCI has become an institution that members believe in. People are really looking forward to the sweepstakes result... That Random can be easily run by me, or sanjayrai, or gusty or sundaram or saikat or flyingboxcar etc. But it wont have the same credibility. Members don't expect us to announce results. Sweepstakes needs to close one way or another. Don't know if the sponsors are still interested and committed! If so I could draw lots on behalf of Anwar sir/RCI. I was only to administer the sweepstakes (not select winners). On 9th Jan, one day after the deadline, I did post the list of entries (valid and invalid) For me to do the lottery, need confirmation from sponsors and a green light from Anwar sir. Actually, anyone can do a draw of lots from the 94 entries in my 9th Jan post... The username will appear number of times as per the sweepstake entry. For example user name "Anant champ" will appear 5 times in the list. I just used "Anant champ 5" to indicate that the name "Anant champ" will appear 5 times. Participants are requested to go through and confirm that the list is in order before end of the day. @K K Iyer Sir, I request you to generate a random number 1 to 94 and declare the winner by tomorrow morning around 9 AM.
