to all reading heres a must read true story
you want to by the dx5e tx only for 1000rx but seller says no you have to buy  tx 1000rs + brand new rx 800rs and your shipping 300rs not just the tx. seller includes used neckstrap and some shrinks .you agree with it 2100rs tx+rx+shipping now you recieve your order the tx is fine but rx is damaged oh no,the antena has come off and a small piece of the rx has chiped but seller told you brand new rx correct ,so you call up the seller inform him about damaged rx and that the tx is fine you now inform the seller that you  braught the tx  just to remove the module from it he is fine with it ,you go ahead and post pictures of the damaged  rx that same time on rci .the seller tell you to goahead and try to solder the antena yourself and check online how it is done if any problem then he will see you call a friend from rci and inform him about the same this friend say if seller says he will see goahead and solder, now  keep in mind here the seller doesnt mention anything about the tx and he knows you are  goin to remove the module he can stop you here and you are happy with tx and its yours now,as the seller said go ahead and try with rx so you put some glue and glue up the small broken piece of the rx case and thats sorted  ,now you try to help the seller and be good to him by trying to solder the antena to the rx even thou you know the seller is supposed to give you a new rx you still try to help and take a risk, now here is the problem  you have never soldered a antena to a reciever before ever , so you start doing your research google,youtube,rc groups trying to help the seller by doing that small little solder on the rx and closing the topic there ,  now at the same time the tx is not the issue correct you informed seller that tx is recived and no damages found he know about you removing module so what the hell you open up the tx and remove the module as the tx is now your and you have no complains sellers knows too that you will be removing module seller did not say anything about the tx, now  you do your research on the rx and  then you get back to the seller and inform him about the research you did on the damaged rx you inform him  that the copper trace has come off the rx board.and that you can't glue the antenna back on. It has to be soldered to the circuit board, and that will be difficult or impossible given the damage as you dont see any solder on  the board aswell.now like we know rx is the heart of the airplane why take a risk better take a refund or replacement.you inform the seller about rx damage on rci,
now the seller tell you on rci that you are his priority and that he will give you a refund or replacement of the rx ,so all good and you are fine with it here again the seller doent say a word about the tx and you know he is goin to replace or refund the rx so you still digging into that open tx trying to remove the module.now suddenly   the seller changes his mind and tells you, no he cannot give you a refund for 800rs (price you paid for the rx).and that you should ship the tx and rx back to him he will give you a refund but now the full amout 2100rs and yes ,Again  you have to pay for shipping that is 300rs again or may be more were you stay ,now you in a soup because you have opened the tx already and removed the module from it since the tx was not an issue only the rx was The problem and the seller said he will refund or replace the rx .... now seller says he is a college student,price was dirt cheap,gave you shrink wraps, neck strap,says he invested a lot in the tx, he also starts to blame you saying that You your self destroyed the rx you did not want it anyway And that you forced him to sell the tx and rx when clearly in a thread he mention 1800rs for you only no one else ...... blah blah now Finally seller says he will not refund you anything ....now what ...was it your falt you recieved a damaged rx,was it your falt you opened the tx after informing seller ,was it your falt for trying to help.

anyone who is interested in knowing,

i didn't know Robin/Ribz before the day i saw this giveaway thread, no prior interaction nothing... I posted that am in need of some deans and heat shrinks and the guy responded within 4 hours..told me that he has run out of the deans but will still try to source one male connector and will also include some M3 screws and nuts because i might need them as am building a multirotor.

after this conversation, I went busy in academics soo couldn't visit forum for about two days,.. when i did visit I had a PM stating that my package is ready for local pickup along with the address, and the directions to reach that place..i asked for Robin's no and told him that my friends would be picking up the stuff instead of me and that he would have to keep the stuff for a few more days as my friends would be coming on 3rd or 4th of march..he readily agreed and told me not to worry.

now fast forward to 3rd of march, I started calling the guy at around 2pm onwards, he wasn't picking up,...I panicked and basically became a pain in his ass dialing his no again and again. Robin responded around 4pm and apologized for not picking up the call as he was busy and agreed to see my friends at the wee hours of 8pm.
now come the rather unexpected part, remember I asked for a few pairs of Deans and few feets of heat shrink, the guy gave 6M of 6mm heat shrink and about 40 M3 screws just to apologize for not having able to source the dean connector...wayy more than we agreed to.

I narrated all this story just to state one point, in my humble opinion, I don't think a guy who is giving stuff for free just because he got them for free or very cheap,... going through all the pains of packaging, shipping and being responsible for its delivery that too going pro Bono will not haggle for 800 INR that too when his reputation is at stake. Am not passing any judgments here, just sharing a piece of my mind.

I too am wondering...
I bought a heat gun from Robin.
It was just JUNK. All broken up from inside.
But he charged me only Rs 200.
That's not bad. Except that he didn't tell me upfront.
If you get a Hot Air Gun for 200, that can be fixed with some MSEAL, cant complain...

Also got a line follower robot kit from him for 500.
This was to get my 88 year old dad interested without involving soldering.
I got a box of parts without one word of instructions.
Was fairly upset, but have since found details on the net.

I think Robin is not actually cheating people
He's just getting some cheap stuff (cheap price and very cheap quality) and fobbing it off on unsuspecting eager buyers attracted by the low price and small freebies.
Many have received his freebies, incl me!

I had refrained from commenting earlier for two reasons:
1. I ordered something from him at junk price, so i cant complain if i got junk.
2. His Quad flew away. Thats more than enough punishment for any sins he may have committed!

I wish him well with the following suggestions/requests:
1. Return the 800. I feel that the claim is ok. Refuse postage refund.
2. Be clear upfront. If you're selling Chink junk, say so. I see that you have not given a clear answer to Ashok Baijal's queries...
3. If you are in residence, College may take a dim view of your activities, with rather serious consequences...

I also got a free packet containing the 6mm heat shrinks.

For my queries on the LCD offer I got silence as my answer! His recent offer of LED domes for free has nothing to do with aero modelling. What is his objective? If he is trying to establish himself as a benevolent seller on RCIndia, he is doing more damage than good to himself by these gimmicks. One thing he has clearly established that he deals in near junk quality goods.

I agree  with all who have recieved free stuff and stuff for cheap and im happy for you, but what if you ordered something brand new paid for it and then recieved it damaged,then you are told you will get a refund or replacement and then finally you get nothing but are blamed for damaging it .

flip side, Giving freebies is strategic and as simple as buying chelas. (Little investment which would save larger investments).
 I remember a LHS that gave many freebies here initially to silence the seniors and nobody could complain or bash it here tho they sold almost junk. Now they don't get freebies.

I will throw u a tip- If ur pic is too high resolution, send an email of pics to urself and the emailed pics will have its size reduced and make it uploadable here.

Roman- if it was speedpost, they could have opened it, in my case most delhi parcels are opened, buying things without seeing pics in advance is not advised unless u have prior experience with the seller but mistake happens with everyone.

I would only wish u both come to an understanding since both have taken a firm stand, blame the post and share the loss. :/
