Title: Rc funding needed for Scratch build quadcopter /w Transmitter nrf24l01
Post by: vivektodmal on November 06, 2017, 06:57:20 PM
Hello,
I am a mid level RC hobbyist. I wish to complete my project but i don't have enough money to complete it. I have got it in the air but plenty of things are missing.Please take a look at the photos and videos.

@vivektodmal,
Went through the link you posted.
Saw a lot of general statements, but no specific proposal/project.
Are you looking for investors in a project or just donors for some equipment?
Regards.

@K K Iyer
Hello sir,
Thank you for taking time noticing my elements. The answer is i was researching about drones and i managed to build myself one by learning some electronics. As i have a very low budget for this hobby of mine i have only managed to get so far and hit a wall as i cannot buy myself a real R/C transmitter or GPS module or any other RC equipment as i have already invested 3-4000 rs in it.
I have gotten this far.
1. I managed to get a carbon fibre frame.
2. I managed to make a flight controller from arduino uno and external sensors.
3. I have used a nrf20l01 chinese RF module and made 2 of them communicate with each other.
4. So far i have tried a lot of get the project in air(Video on the page) and i did.But as the potentiometers from the modified ps2 controller i have used in my project are too shaky and the drone is not stable in the air . I have researched it and gotten to the conclusion that i would need a real transmitter for it to fly stable. Also i want to research further like GPS control or GSM control.
Long story short: i need some donations for my project. It would be very kind if you could chip in some money. Thank you.

post your detailed schematic and pictures of your flight controller and code.
- yours and not copied from the net.

if they have merit - i will send you a gps and compass module - free

What do you need 75,000 for?
A quad dosent cost more than 25k I think.

@saikat Hello, Thank you for your generous offer.
I will post them here:

I have posted them in the attachment section.

Also there is the video of my initial flight .

@prabal786
Yes, it is just the upper limit. And even if i get 75000 i will use it as a research fund in my hobby(which is unlikely). I have some ideas about alternate power systems for the quad and i also want to be able to control the quad remotely with the help of a gsm module so that i can control the quad with my laptop from far far away. I have developed a IOT type system which can do such a thing with minimum delay but i have no idea yet how i am going to integrate it into the quadcopter.

The problem i am facing now is that the quadcopter is shaky and not as the most videos i have seen on the internet. Many people told me to buy a Transmitter and not use a modified one. Maybe the potentiometers on my ps2 mod are not good so the values given to quad are changing way frequently. But to give up this transmitter is too difficult as i have put up a lot of work into it. Maybe if i get good potentiometers from somewhere maybe a old damaged Transmitter, my problem might be solved.

@vivektodmal
Do you need 4 or 6 channels?
I can lend you a 4 or 6 ch Tx/rx for say 2 months
Thereafter you can return or buy it for a token amount.

@vivektodamal,
PM me your address.
Token amount means TOKEN amount!
IE, a small fee!

My quad looks just like yours.
Tried it just now with my 6 year old (but not used even one day) Tx/rx
Works fine, except the controls are rather sensitive.
Tomorrow I'll try to post a video...

Meanwhile you can search on RCI for ST360 posts by k k iyer

Sent you on whatsapp a short clip of test done a few minutes ago.
Seems fine, no sudden unexpected responses!

A lot of the stuff you are planning may have already been done
See this thread originally posted by topalle

Notice that their objective is not to build everything from scratch, but to use available stuff as building blocks for further development.

I recommend you to completely analyse the available solutions and then try to enhance or make them better and also in case if you can add something then that would be better. I do not recommend any bigger project to be started from scratch especially when team is very small as it will long time to develop and by the time you complete it that would be something like from stone age.

Generally speaking nobody encourage you to do a multiwii project again as it has already been done rather you can adapt it into your work.

** As per the industry standards engineers need to comply with existing ones and develop something new from it.
** Do not repeat the work. It doesn't add up to anything.
This was not to hurt you in any way but to make you understand about the market.

Yes it makes sense. Why waste time building old stuff when you can build new stuff. Only thing is that this quadcopter build was due to the lack of money. I wish to upgrade to 32 bit FC running clmeanflight or iNav in the future.

@vivektodmal

Any updates? Were you able to fly your quad smoothly?

Looking forward to your reply :)
