Its basically just what you would do , exactly what you would pay, i am here to help only those who dont have access to intl debit card or entropay.

i have access to those so am here helping.

and regarding the customs, ive ordered some shipments now and went through Kolkata customs .. so far no customs charged :D a relative who knows someone at Kolkata customs says that Kolkata customs are the most lineant ... soo yeah :D

i already checked all banks debit card for paypal compatibility...but no luck.. so at last did FD (fixed deposit) in HDFC and get credit card...

axis doesnt have that ?

I use an axis bank debit card which allows me to all transactions like any credit card and even paypal...u have to ask axis bank for the chip enabled debit card with international transactions and then after getting this card you have to get international transactions enabled by calling customer care people. I have never faced any failed international transactions with this debit card and it works seamlessly across all platforms..

the last transaction was about to days ago and the exchange rate for me was INR 61.67 per USD and no other charges at all...

Min balance is 5k for me but since you are from an urban area for you it may be 10k..just find out from your branch...and they'll issue the card for rs. 700... rest i guess is the same for other cards...and you also get more benefits lie greater withdrawals etc...

Axis Prime Cards and ICICI Smart Shopper or greater cards are works for me everywhere(also in paypal) without additional charges, and in paypal transactions you should select "other conversion options" and select "bank to decide conversion rates" else paypal conversion is used and costs less than 2% additional(sometimes failed transactions due to low paypal conversion values).

Are Paypal rates worse or better than the bank rates?

bank rates are better than paypal in my experience.also using paypal rates sometime causes failure in transaction

well with entropay you just pay what you see XD so thats good i guess

same happening all methods, but the problem is Indian Rupees to US Dollar Convertion,
for example(not correct figure, just for understanding).

Axis bank   63.1
Entropay    63.9

conversion rates vary on all methods even between banks.


Edit: Different cards like Platinum,Gold,Prime,Silver From Same bank have Different conversions too.

I own a axis bank debit card and my card works with paypal.
Yes, I have been using my card for the past year on several sites and have has no issues at all !!
The only issue i have is that i cannot make transactions above 40,000 inr since i have a youth account and that is the limitation on my account.
So if you have a normal account it shouldn't be a problem.Other than entropay the only option is to get a credit card or open an account in axis or idbi (Yes, i have tried idbi too)

No extra cost... Just the $10 @ exchange rate and axis bank rates are good enough..

how much are axis banks rate ? %wise ?

I am just comparing it to the entropay way.
 via etropay if the item's values is $10, then i pay 5%of 10 and a few cents more for paypal rate so at the end it comes to $10.60 or something


if the savings are massive, then i might consider changing to axis.

Exchange rates fluctuate daily... last purchase i made had an exchange value of INR 61.67 per USD inclusive of all... this was lower exchange value then what aliexpress calculated for me

Today I made a purchase from hk. The rate offered by paypall was Rs65.30 to a dollar while ICICI charged Rs63.12 to a dollar. As such choosing other conversion is a better option than using paypall conversion service. Saved over Rs200 in conversion.

Dear friends, while using a vcc from entropay, there won't be any extra conversion charges or hidden charges, we have only got to bother about 4.85 % charge by entropay, which is collected at time of refilling the card.
Considering, this entropay seems better than regular CCs

Every time i paid on eBay. With entropay they deduct 2$ More per order..and refund only'm .96$

I didn't experienced that, even though entropay, sometimes takes a little more than actual amount, I get it fully back in m card when statement is generated.

But i every time paid 1.2 dollars extra... Only on eBay.com I also check on other sites like helipal , hobbyking. They won't charge any single penny extra than mrp...

Hey man, that's because you might have bought ebay items that are are not listed in US dollars... then there will be paypal conversion rates .
recheck your purchases , whether they are listed in US $ :)

Is the bank conversion charge used or anything additional than their %?

Actually,  you can attach a debit card to make payments on PayPal. I have used my SBI Mastercard and earlier maybe my axis bank card for payments on PayPal. I don't think they charged as much as 4.9%.
And pan no. not required for making payments,  only for receiving payments.

Sooraj's/Gautham's CC company must be so happy with them hehe :giggle: Oh and the shopping points they must get!

well the main point of entropay is that you are safe from any scams :) if the card is compromised, you're still safe.

and yea the points a there but they're very minimal, still something is better than nothing i guess :giggles:

todays axisbank(Debit MasterCard and VISA) coverstion rate for  1USD = 65.12 INR,
and the paypal conversion   1USD = 65.25INR

Maybe dollar rate won't go below Rs 60.... :banghead: :banghead:

Yup there is additional charges for like minimum loading amount is 5$ and it charges 0.35 $ more to process that payment.It is approximate.or something like that
