Title: 0.52 size Pulse Jet Engine from Hobby King
Post by: ujjwaana on October 25, 2013, 04:43:08 PM
Should not be a news for many anymore, but after failing to develop a cheap Turbine Jet Engine, HK has come up with an offering of a Chinese factory build Pulse Jet Engine for Just $95 + Shipping.  :salute: :salute:

It is yet to be seen how good it fares, but a a real Pulse Jet engine with complete Ignition systme for $99 is a good to have item.  (:|~ (:|~

Waiting for my Credit Card Cycle to get over.

It went for me till Checkout page where you select between Credit Card and Paypal etc:
"ChinaPost Air Parcel No Lipo  $34.41 "

Bloody expensive shipping. I guess shipping from US is cheaper than unreliable, careless HK/Singa/China post ...

Sundaram sir,
Observations and test run video eagerly awaited.
Looks like a straight Dynajet copy, no?
Regards.

I received it in about three weeks. I am yet to test run it. Though the long list of wanted for this like air pump, gas fuel tank all are assembled and ready, I am yet to start the test run, may be more so for the fear of roucous it's going to make.

Iyer sir defenitely will be posting the progress video and pictures. It's a dynajet copy surely.

@ujjwaana sir,
From where did you get the 0.52 tag?
Output specified by HK is less than that of the original 1957 Dynajet!

@sundaram sir,
Were you not trying to build one?
Or was that a turbine?

After RC Aunt (and daughter) opened all the cartons and arranged the books/mags in shelves, easily found the 1971 first qtr issue of Indian Modeller with someone familiar (haha) on the cover page, as well as Model Aero Engine Encyclopedia of 1958.

Chapter 26 in it is 'Making a pulse jet'. Doesn't even need an ignitor circuit to start - only a flame thrower!

@ujjwaana sir
Promise not to hijack your thread any further.

Iyer sir, The turbine project is on a major holdup for want of time and inconel sheets. Will surely do it eventually.  In the mean time asked some one to get me a kingtech. May be that one will be with me sooner. :)
