Title: At Last received my Seagull SEA-15
Post by: Aeroresurrect on September 26, 2018, 06:15:40 PM
At last after a wait of four months, got my Seagull Jumper 25-32 Trainer.
It was lying with the Custom for almost 3 months and could get it out after follow-ups.

It should be a fantastic build (actually assembly) I have saved for the coming winter !!
Meanwhile can any forum expert advise me what servo to use (I assumed 9g should be oK ; nothing written on the instruction manual).

Just one question did you know if it was arriving??
If no then what was your reaction seeing the delivery guy??

9 gm servos highly unlikely

There is a precut servo tray in this ARF. Measure the size. Most probably will be a standard servo - 43 to 55 gm

Haha. I was about to suggest you ask sanjayrai55   ;D

9gm servos unsuitable due to model size, weight, speed and vibration.
You need ‘standard’ servos.

And beware of fakes. See this.

Meanwhile have you obtained Tx/Rx, engine, onboard battery, visual display or beeper for onboard battery voltage, fuel, fuel tubes, filters, pump or squeeze bottle, glow booster, starter or chicken stick (or even an old felt pen!)?
If yes, once you get 4-5 servos, you’ll need only one day for assembly, to start HAPPY FLYING!

If you are a new pilot, I hope you have someone to guide you.
Best wishes.

Hi Mehul,

Actually, while tracking the parcel, I went to the FPO office to retrieve it with whatever duty etc. However, the guy told me it is a banned item, ' will not be released' and further ' penalty to be paid for attempting to import banned item'. (I gave up hope; this was more than 3 months back).

recently, I started having dreams of me assembling and flying the airplane. Thought why not give it another try ! My next (recently) visit saw a completely different group and when I explained parcel has only wooden parts (he opened and verified), he agreed to release it after duty of 3400/-.

Another wait for 12 days after which my parcel showed up and I made custom duty payment....

All this while, there was no support from seller or the shipping agent. They are a bit inflexible.

Thank you Mr KK Iyer and Sanjay Rai,

I was also in doubt about the servo size....
Yes, more or less everything else is available...the power-plant (ASP FS30AR), receiver, Tx from my earlier set-up, receiver battery-box, manual fuel pump,, props etc etc. (I have earlier built a trainer a year back)
The kit supplied has tank, undercarriage, pushrods, control horns, spinner and RUBBER BANDS !

Lets see how long it takes. (I go very slow and am in no hurry to reach the the flying field)...

I also intend to hook the Rx with a Detrum Istone stabilizer I procured a month back....s
