Interesting.
Bush cutters have been successfully modified to RC use. You must definitely go ahead with your plans. What brand engine and what is the starting mechanism ? Does it have an ignition coil ?

I have a similar project lined up later this year and I will help you with whatever I know.

yes - you can use - just have to modify the mountings
and make flange for mounting the prop.

most probably it is a pull start recoil type.

I have many of these engines at my disposal (used in agricultural power sprayers)
and if any one is interested - I can provide one at a reasonable price - say about 3-4K
they will be used though and in need of repair and service.

Saikat ji
What is the smallest engine that you have with you  ? What would be the capacity and weight ? Again which brand / make ? And importantly in what condition  , what exact repair will be required ?

I am interested in one of these if it fits my bill.
I can have it picked up in Tezpur if needed.

Reddy sir

Bush cutter engines were used for a long time for aeromodelling.
Search for weed "wacker engine planes" in google.
Take a look at this thread.

Saikat ji
I will inform you after I check out the logistic end of pickup and shipping to me. I hope you will help to source the engine even if I dont take up your offer at present and request your help at a later date ?

Can you tell me what will be the appx weight of this engine and whether it would be easy to get this engine serviced and restored at any city (or would i need to get it serviced in tezpur ?)

Thank you for your offer of help.

best regards,
Dr. A Ghosh

Abheek / VC / KK - these are very common engines and can be repaired in any garage

parts are available from ASPEE (the company - indian)
and the name is Aspee Bolo mistblower - google will tell you the rest

there must be thousands of these floating around in rural India.

Pls tell me your respective cities and I'll direct you to the nearest dealers.

They can probably get you the engine seperately - if you want a new one

I'll get off my butt later in the day and post a picture for you guys

Thanks Saikat.

Any Idea on the price of engine alone,
I think it will come well below 10k if they are selling the engine alone as the duster will be around 25k only.

Yes - the engine alone should cost under 10k

for enthusiasts of more power - try the cifarelli brand of agri sprayers.

they come equipped with a 77cc engine of japanese/chinese make.

@sbajare
Met you once in Dec last, and once a few years back.
Must congratulate you on your many achievements.
(Including auto driver. Now you may remember me)
More important is your modesty. You never mentioned anything.
Kindly make a compilation for our benefit.
Otherwise i will have to hunt through you old posts and do it myself.
Pl keep up the good work.
Regards.

Edit: appologies to csreddy and saikat for diverting the thread.

i am also working on P-51 mustang design as i have access to cnc
machines. iam trying to make out working drawings in sketchup. but cnc
does not take sketchup. it takes in only cad drawings i guess. any
