Title: Re: from manipal: i have cox .049 Post by: sahilkit on September 19, 2014, 06:53:49 PM no these are control line or free-flight engines, if you need speed control throttle mod is the way!
here are videos of my cox surestart .049 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mz-dEqS7l-0 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mz-dEqS7l-0) never run your cox inside, needs good ventilation ;D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5o4fADl3-eY (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5o4fADl3-eY) Title: Re: from manipal: i have cox .049 Post by: rajji on September 19, 2014, 07:12:11 PM but what do i do if i want a safe landing :O or if i want to go faster :P

Title: Re: from manipal: i have cox .049 Post by: K K Iyer on September 19, 2014, 10:02:46 PM @sundaram sir,
Sure we/anyone can built a carb with a throttle, but Can't help wondering when we'll attain the standard of workmanship shown by Leroy Cox /Bill Atwood over 50 years ago. There's a guy i don't know and haven't met, called pline on this forum... (The railway wallah) @pline Can't think of anyone else who could actually do stuff like this... Title: Re: from manipal: i have cox .049 Post by: sundaram on September 19, 2014, 10:57:54 PM standard of workmanship shown by Leroy Cox /Bill Atwood over 50 years ago. Iyer Sir, I would agree with you on that. Hats of to the creativity of the man, that engine design will last a century if not more. Is your engine in a running condition? Also, what fuel do you plan on using? Title: Re: from manipal: i have cox .049 Post by: K K Iyer on September 20, 2014, 07:23:11 PM Can any one send me the inner design of throttle valve for Cox 049 please? An exhaust restrictor may be easier to make. Title: Re: from manipal: i have cox .049 Post by: rajji on September 20, 2014, 11:19:05 PM I am using a Nitro fuel mixed with 20% Castor oil
