Please let know how much does it cost to mix our own fuel (With a breakup of price for each ingredient ?).

The prices of so called local fuel is priced very very high (Rs.517/ltr.), may be its time we blend our own fuel.

RC fliers in Gurgaon & Noida blend their own fuel and I was told that their fuel with 20% Nitro Cost them only 175 per litre (Using Lab Grade Methanol & all Castrol).

You can mix on your own provided you can get the ingrediants. In TN its difficult to source Methanol. You can try sources in BLR.

We are shifting to Tornado.

You can easily find it in  any  Shop  that supplies chemicals  to schools  and colleges ......

it's cost  at my place is 600/ltr  for 4-5 liter can 

{ Not specific with volume-- WE use it in my Chemistry  Lab }

I think the biggest deterrent is being assured of the quality of the constituents. A lot of us are interested in mixing our own fuel but are wary of the complications involved. I believe there is also a legal implication involved in storing and mixing chemicals. I'm not sure of it though.

Lab Methanol costs  :Rs:320 for 4 litre.
Lab Castor oil costs  :Rs:70 for 200 ml bottle.
Or  160/litre for natural.

Fuel per litre costs around  112/litre.

The shop is far away so it takes nearly  70 for transportation as well

I used to mix our own fuel too. I used solvent ether, kerosene and castor oil in 40/40/20 proportions. this was for non glow engines. you can find solvent ether or anesthetic ether at a medical store.

We mix our own fuel. Works out much cheaper than the commercially available fuel.
Methanol - 1500/- for 20 liters
Castor oil - 175/- per liter.
Filter paper - 2/- sheet (Use about 2 sheets to filter 5 liter fuel once) [I filter the fuel 3 times over a period of 10 - 12 days before I use it]
All the hard work - Priceless

So effective per liter price works out about: 100 bucks a liter give or take a couple of bucks.
Now having a 20 % nitro fuel for 175/- seems too improbable.
Waiting for replies from the Noida and gurgaon guys.

Tornado is a reliable fuel. I am unable to find a regular source. Please let me know if somebody can send to Coimbatore. Thanks-Arun

If u love your engine, never use lab methanol, its gummy over time and not a 100%  pure methanol.

How much does a litre of klotz synthetic oil cost ?

As of now, about  1,000 for one Quart (app.0.975lt.)

Nitro Methane is close to  :Rs:1,000/lt. Go figure!

20% CASTOR, maybe?
