Gusty even the king cannot start the Cox without Glow plug ( unless of course if he has a diesel head for it)  Giggle

@ Rajji Why what happened to your glow plug?

There is no way you can start a cox without its glow plug supplied with 1.5 Volts. You can replace the Glow head with a Diesel head make your diesel mix (30% Ether, 30% Caster, 40% Kerosene) and run your cox without glow plug.

Re:

Just 1.5 volts. Single  cell dry nimh/nicad or alkaline will do. Use a battery case with single cell and two crocodile clips supply 1.5V between the body and the glow plug pin that's sufficient to start the Engine.

@rajji,
But you never said whether you had a working Cox glow head or not!
Especially as you were talking about a SPARK.
A pencell may be enough if it is NIMH /NICAD/ Alkaline.
If using dry cell you'll need the biggest you can find. Perhaps two D cells in parallel.
In 1970-80 we were using Eveready G ( called G3 or G6, i forget) which were about 3" dia and 6" tall!
Caution: if you use 2v from a car/bike lead acid battery, the glow plug will die instantaneously. Try to use only 1.2-1.4v and never exceed 1.5v.

Sorry, I couldn't understand that. I presume you have a new Cox!
What glow igniter did you order?
The normal ones will not fit the Cox head...

You'll need a clip like this (see pic 1), or two croc clips
And if your igniter looks like pic 2, you need the matching connector.

Best news: a single NIMH pencell does light the plug up (pic 3). Use croc clips. Or even a wire carefully twisted around the top groove of the plug, so that it doesn't touch anywhere else, and the other wire just held on to the crankcase or tank...

Learnt these things the hard way...
Best of luck. Dont wait for 27th etc. Try it first thing tomorrow morning. Skip work/school/college for an hour!
