I know it is banned in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. But even in other places, the dealers are wary selling it because of the harassment from Police. Every time a illicit liquor tragedy occurs, these people come under scrutiny.
This is a problem only with pure methanol, once it is mixed with lubricant, no more issues. Thus, brewing is the only answer coz the pre packed/branded fuel is not available, and neither will they ship it to kerala. And to add to this Pure Meth is not freely available. The Ban is only in regard to stocking Methanol. Its only the sale of Methonal is banned here in karnataka. Only people with license can sell methonal.
