Hi,

First of all I apologize for my silly question as I am newbie in RC world. During last couple of days I am very much confused/puzzle with my glow engine. Any kind of expert input from your side is highly appreciated.

Q1: my glow engine (it is a new OS .46 AX II) too tight to rotate. Yet not tested through fuel (not break in, it’s totally in new condition), I was trying to rotate crankshaft through my hand but it is too tight!!!  Huh?  Head Scratching  Is this normal behavior for new engine? Do I need to put some oil into it? any thought?

Don't wake a Tiger until you've factored the teeth

Have you read the User Manual? It is also available as a pdf download at OS Engines website.

http://manuals.hobbico.com/osm/46ax2-manual.pdf

This is an ABL engine with variable ovality. It is designed to be stiff especially when new. You should NOT try to rotate it by hand without fuel - you could cause permanent damage by scoring of the liner.

Fuel up and prime - all will fall into place

Follow the instructions exactly, and take help from an experienced (and genuinely knowledgeable) modeller if possible

What is more surprising is you state your RC skills are "advanced" and you are doing this

I once again suggest please, please, please get help from some one who knows about engines. We would want you to grow in the hobby and not quit because of lack of help or worse due to a mishap.
