Welcome to the forum Ethiraj sir! I think it would be really helpful if you could post a list of the different blends of fuel you make and the prices..

I did my little test last sunday with the fuel mixed with Mauyra chemicals lube. I used 5% nitro, 18 % lube and rest lab grade Meth. The prop used was MAS 14x6 in both cases

First the ASP 90 FS was run using the same mix (but with Klotz lube) and tached, the engine read 9120 at slightly shy of peak. Readings were taken using two different tachos and there was a difference of about 20-30 RPM between the readings so we will take the readings as 9100.

With the fuel tank emptied, and the engine started sevral times to drain out any remaining fuel, tank was filled with Mauyra mix without touching the needle adjustment. The engine was allowed to cool to ambient temprature from the last run

On firing  with the new mix, in order to acheive the same 9100 rpm, the needle had to be richened about 1/2 turn as with the previous position of the needle the engine was shrieking.

After having richened the needle (fuel mix) there was no affect on transition/pickup and idling.

The engine temprature in both cases seemed to be same (as judged with a normal human finger)

Low end in both the mixes was same at about 2750 -2800 rpm. I do not remember which one idled lower ( I should have had a helper taking readings)

Now I need help in deciphering the results. What does the above findings mean?

So everything else remaining the same... you are using up more fuel by running richer ?

Or the viscosity is higher.

We will know after the Captain runs a tank or two at similar throttle ranges (or style of flying) ;)

Rotor do not know if that is correct, as on visual and feeling comparison, te Klotz appears to be more viscous than the Mauyra one.

Hey Guys! Any further updates on this?

I just got off the phone with Mr.Ethiraj.. He quoted Rs.300/litre for 20% Nitro and 15%Lube mix.

Is this a good alternative for Tornado 20%? I know cost wise it makes sense. But what about the quality?

Its for my HPI Savage.

Tassem.

Long term effects are as important. So who will be the guinea pig?

So who will be the guinea pig?

That's the million dollar question ;)
