In Thrust, I Trust

Hi,
I require the following parts for my O.S. 46AX engine:
>Connecting Rod
>Drive Washer
>Prop Washer
>Prop Nut

I tried ordering the parts online but the cost of shipping makes these parts more expensive than buying a new engine.....

On the topic of buying a new engine......
I have a Seagull 40 Low Wing and I was wondering that if I buy a new engine, should I buy another 46, or should I go for the 55AX.
Also, where can I buy a 55AX from? The person I usually buy my RC parts does from not have the 55 as his stock is stuck in customs.
I need these parts in Delhi or NCR

Try Radar Co. Hong Kong. OS Spares are very expensive.

55 AX from Sphere Hobbies.

55 is good in the sense that mounting dimensions are the same as 46 AX. Weight is a little more, but it can swing bigger props. But do you need it? Most 40 size models will work on a 40, you are using a 46 AX which has a lot more power.

Why did your 46 pack up so soon? Are you using too little Castor Oil? Or Nitro, in high percentages?

Prop nut came loose on full throttle and prop flew away with the drive washer prop nut, spinner and prop washer, leaving the engine to over-rev and break the connecting rod.  Sad

So is it preferable to look for parts, or buy a new engine?
I'll probably go with 46 only then, if I buy a new engine.

I am almost sure that an asp / sc  40 size engine conrod will fit

look up the specifications - if the stroke (usually given  in inches) is similar
then it will fit.
A .46 size is usually a bored out .40 - i.e the dia of the piston is more while
the stroke remains the same. you could also try an LA .40 conrod - wristpin sizes
also should be identical.

The above is educated guesswork so pls do not take it as 100% true - I'm just giving
you more options to consider

For OS engines, it is the same, however I'm not sure whether a conrod from an asp will fit the OS or not.

I require the following parts for my O.S. 46AX engine:
>Connecting Rod
>Drive Washer
>Prop Washer
>Prop Nut

>Drive Washer
>Prop Washer
>Prop Nut

these can be picked from a local hardware store , just take your engine along for the thread and dia of required. it will work i have done it.
will cost around a total of Rs 10

the conrod will have to be either brought from tower or any other site dealing with OS or ASP spares.
all almost all ASP spares work with OS ( i i have tried the piston, cylinder, silencer, carb etc,)

Not the drive washer. That is the part that holds the prop in place:
