Post by: shadman_alam on March 29, 2011, 02:34:25 AM
Ever since i picked up aeromodelling ,3D planes fascinated me the most.. every thing is king size in them.. anyways.. i picked a plan to build.. its called 3D MODEL.. (very familiar to most of us).. it was an electric plan .. but. i m planning to install a 15 size or a 9 size engine on it.. i m done with fuse (just the fuse).. its very easy to build.. and its killer model..

Dont under estimate the structural strength of this frame.. its super strong with that bridge construction..

 Very Nice job Shadman, Eager to see it flying.  {:)}

Thanks for sharing link.

By reading description, it seems that this model is designed for electric power, and would perform best with that.

Balsa model with electrics, wow I love that. :thumbsup:

I always tell bad things all the time . Right. Well since I have already told you this over the phone, let it be for other who woudl have got inspired by your ingenious work:

1. The triagular braces are too dense adding to the weight. There could have been half the number of triangles at least at the Aft side of the plane.

2. you joining surfaces look rough from you pics. Its good to use a 'Miter Box' (even local/home built) and a fine saw to cut the spruce and futher sand them. CA is not good for these structure (Ply box would have been fine), as spruce/silver pine unlike Balsa wont soak glue much, before it cures. Fevicol/24 hr Epoxy would be a better choice, along with Fevicol+saw dust paste applied all over the joint side (where one puts 'Triangular'  balsa)

3. You might again run into risk of dreadful 'Tail heavy' situation.

Lets fly this bird soon.
