Hi all,

I would like to know around  how many rc pilots in India fly a 50CC airplane? I am planing to build a 50cc model of Extra 260 & a Yak 54 for myself. If there are enough people i would also love to make a proper ARF version of these planes.

Thanks,
Sharlock

You are gonna hit the 'Premium' market where the demands on Quality, accuracy and Finish is very high. Are you going to provide Vacuum formed Canopy and composite Cowling ?? Overall weight and accessory would also be a deciding factor.

BTW where  you hit the jackpot of the Plane design ?? I dont see many 50cc plan available on the net.

I think the pilots are around 25 to 30 or even more, I have no problem making the canopy, cowl & the wheel pants, My entire plane will be made up of lite ply, balsa, Wings & tail surfaces sheeted foam. At least i will make 2 plane for myself & later see if there are any people interested will make few.

As the price of a 50CC plane is crazy here in India around 30 to 35K which i dont wish to spend.

Thanks,
Sharlock

Making needs lot of tools and material ......material is a problem as I encountered......say for spar you will have to search a lot for a thin aluminum pipe......

As for lite ply i hand select ply from various different manufacturers (Indian), for spars i use medium grade balsa wood, or for medium hard spar cut them from stock wood any light weight wood Grin.

For cutting the kit laser is the best way to go for but its expensive so i use my scroll saw which works great for me.. Grin

@shadman_alam ,   No it is not goldwing. It is composite YAK54. Unfortunately Have not rigged it yet. Only fixed the undercarraige. Am still enjoying the Extra 260 from cermark.

Extra 260 is a lovely aircraft.

Cheers
