Hey guys im planning to buy a glow engine.....i dont know which to buy.....52 got more power but 46 will fit in all available nitro plane kits...confused  :headscratch:

go in for .46 size engine it fits in almost all planes ..

Yea nitesh i now im bored running home waiting 3 hrs to charge then only 10 min of fun i want more thats why im going for nitro....just refuel and fly....and im going for asp cuz its cheap hahaha that does not means its not good....asp .46 is good not as good as os .46 just a little low on power..and bit subject to quality ...as i can get asp .46 within ₹4300 .....but for me asp is good enough cuz im not getting enough pocket money

ASP .46 is ok and have enough power with quality product.ASP is using all OS dies. ASP piston ,sleeve set is running fine in my old OS .46 and not having peeling problem as OS .46 have.

Wat is the thrust will i get with asp .46

welcome to the Glow engines group.  .46 is a good choice.  ASP or OS.... well toss a coin and see if you are getting confused.  All you have to do is handle the engine with care and keep it lubricated and dust free....  Happy Flying.

Hi shobhit im going for asp 46 as im a little off budget for os....i wanted to know wether we need hs needle valve or its optional as hk has two versions of asp .46 one with hs needle valve and one without...wat is the use of hs needle valve...which model to choose the one with hs needle or one without hs needle...?

Good choice Eric :thumbsup: ASP not only the budget engine but spares also available easily in local hobbyshops and hobbyking too.  :thumbsup:

you can go ahead with out any doubt . LHS price will cost same as import from HK ( including Custom and Shipping).

My 20 cents worth .


1. The weight is the same
2. Marginal difference in price
3. My experience with OS 46 AX & 55 AX was the mounting dimension was the same

If such is the case, obviously go for the 52!!!! You are getting a little extra power with it!

It can also swing a larger prop- very very useful!!

Eric - you could always check it beforehand. Check the discussions on the ASP 52 in HK. Or Google for Magnum Engines XL 52.

Eric: There are 2 versions, both WITH needle valves. You cannot have these type of carburettors without a needle valve.

In one case, it is a standard configuration, i.e. the needle valve is mounted on the carb/engine block

In the other case, you have a remote (fitted a little away) Needle Valve assembly.

Why?

Because (a) if you have a totally cowled engine it could be difficult to access the valve (b) It is safer to have it further from the propellor - for your fingers  :giggle: ;)

In any case, you being an intermediate flyer will know that engine adjustments are always made when standing behind the engine, to save your fingers from vanishing in a splash of blood and bone chips  >:D >:D

Yea ur right....thats why im preferring  the on which has hs needle little far away...as its spare parts are easily available in rcdhamaka so no worries.. :thumbsup:

52 size is good for all mid size planes and morden time quality of asp is good and os older max os is excellent but modern os max is ok if u find enya engine made in japan best engines and last longer than any engines
