Title: Gold Wing Pitts Python from RC Dhamaka
Post by: flyingboxcar on November 04, 2013, 09:42:58 AM
A short video of maiden flight of the Pitts.
Powered by DLE 30 with a 18x10 Xoar propeller (the engine was run two tanks before maiden) and stock DLE plug. 4x HS 5625 on ailerons, 2 x HS 5645 on Elevators, 1 std Digital on Throttle, 1 x Hitec 7940 on rudder.
2x 1800 Lipos, through Booma RC digital switch , 2x Regulator supplying 6 V on to a Booma RC dual battery isolator and two power inputs in to Rx. Futaba 9 Ch Rx.
Almost 600 gms nose weight despite the petrol engine and ignition battery on top of engine box.

The engine needles have not been touched as they came from factory, was doing 6500 top end and about 3000 on idle. Will tune in the engine after couple of more runs, running 40ml oil per liter of Petrol.

If you are assembling one, do not go the two elevator servo route, join the elevator halves and use one servo in the tail with at least 200 oz/in servo for elevator, that would save about 300g of nose weight.

The cowl and spats were not put on for maiden, these will come on once the engine and pilot have settled down some ...

Will post some static pictures later

Ohhh! and that colour scheme especially against a grey sky is really confusing. The two set of wings make it even more difficult.
