Do you mean Petrol as in Gasoline (Octane) or Nitro (Methanol/Castor/Nitromethane) ? Head Scratching

A .25 size engine.....normally nitro

Looke like Nitro, Saw an ignitor taken away. Isnt a  25cc gasoline is too big for that plane? I have seen Yaks with gasoline engines

Apart from the glow ignitor that is a give away, the video mention ".25" engine.  ".25" is "0.25ci", which is how glow engines are typically referred to (cubic inches).   A gas engine is typically referred to in "cc" (cubic centimeters), they are whole numbers, the smallest are typically 10+ (although smaller ones are now becoming mass produced).

Anwar, which company makes gas engines smaller than 10cc? Heard of Saito that makes a 13cc. Its a new area in cars. HPI is releasing a small capacity gas engine for their 1/8 cars.

My brother was testing this one at the field last weekend. It is 9cc, and in one glance, looks like a glow engine.  The spark plug and CDI connected are the giveaways.  The carb looks normal type (i.e., not the fully squarish Walbro type).

Why not present a closer look for observation of the engine, instead of the flight video?? The cat is already out of the bag now.

Why would I refer to Gusty's thread, when I was touching and feeling one myself !

And the UMS thread does not say anything about whether it is glow or gas, one has to make an educated guess !

Practice, and only Practice will make you perfect

Anwar bhai, I like the touch and feel bit, Wink  however I have an observation( not directly related to this thread ) that, as the gas engine reduces in size, power to weight reduces considerably, like the 9cc engine is good for scale aeroplane like the spit, come pattern or 3d she lacks the punch, I guess 9 cc is lowest, one could go in gas engine, major advantage though, with smaller gas engine is the endurance, the engine literally sniffs fuel. All IMHO

Surprisingly in all the flak flying around, the starter of this thread Mr. J R H has not responded at all - just an observation. A line from him will clear it up
