This is from the the Pilot 1/4 kit (which would be suitably modified wherever required to adhere to scale)

No the one from Phillipines is a much smaller kit.  A twin actually meant for two .10 engines.
That kit should also be due for a look as the engines (2x OS .10 FP) are already ready.

Yes patience and time would sure be required.
The work which I have undertaken is mind numbing but then one rib stitch at a time it would be concluded 

After seeing Mike's birds, I hope you use solartex instead of monokote varieties !  It seems to be much more durable too.

Any one even thinking that this Tiggy would have that shiny plastic for covering is commiting treason.
It would either be Solartex, Natural (to be painted) or Sig Koverall nothing else.
I have used both material earlier and they are absolutely suited for the purpose.
Another great option for covering is  Poly Lite Fabric  from Stits, havent used it yet but from what I hear it is great

On a lighter note,
Recently some one asked me what I was planning to build next and when answered it would be a scale Tiggy, pat came the answer! .....so would it be equipped with retracts???

Exactly... but the picture on that box is quite shiny, and I think it takes away from the true looks of how it should be !

The to do list for this model is going to be pretty long
sample this
1. The model would require approx 130 Feet of pinked tapes
2. There would be almost equal lenght of rib stiches to be applied under those pinked tapes. (Now calculate the number of stiches required for that length, when the full sale had a stitch every two inches )
3. It would need approx 30 feet of perimeter tape
4. Would also require approx 80 inspection panel patches
5. Aerfoiled shaped flying wires with suitable turnbuckles and clevises would have to be procured for all the flying, landing and rigging wires
6. Scale wheel and hub caps have been ordered
7. Lot of tiny scale screws and rivets to be arranged/purchased
9. piano hinges for cowl, and luggage compartment to be procured
10 And above all order for a laser 180 to be placed after Christmas

Good now you have learned about pinked tapes. And the site you indicated does not deal with pinked tapes, it was picked up from Pinkit, that's where my order is being placed. There are also other good source, like Mick Reeves in UK. But for Mick would probably get my order for aerofoil wires

Jokes Apart, the model has all the four wing panesl removable and so is the tail , which makes it easy to transport this one even in a Maruti 800

Pls. post the build as you progress. Guess you are the only one into this type of building on this part of the world.

The build is slated to start much later, but yes when it starts, there would be three threads going. Here, the original India rc and rcscalebuilder.
But to keep the thread and interest alive, there would regualr (but infrequent) updates on the progress.

There are many who build from plans/kits/scratch but most of them are not members of any Indian forums.

My intention to do a build thread is to inspire and attract few more into this line of the hobby

Apart from the smoothie Sanjeev is building, he also has a 1/4 scale cub stashed for construction. Wait for that build log to start.  
    

Just woke it up

1. The kit box, supplied with loads of wood, hardware, and plastic parts. The supplied decals are plastic stick on type and hence not suitable for use even if I decide on a colour scheme reperesenting the RAF version

2. Some parts removed from the box to reveal the wood

3. That is the centre section tank (look at the moulded plastic corrugations) and the number of corrugations are exactly same as that on a full scale one

I think that he will start soon after he has finished the smoothie, force one delta, taube & the scratch build astro hog.

I think he has already collected the scale wheels, solartex covering, engine detailed cowl, struts etc. which you scale builders know.

3.  The tail portion (if you look closely you can make out the entire tail is removable)

Andif you would look closely at the first picture you would see that per the full size the wing section is undercambered

Amazing that for all that we learn and later earn, making something from a bunch of sticks gives the most satisfaction!!! The plans themselves enthuse one to start off on a build ;-)

Guess some time has passed since last update.
I had been going over the kit contents, studying the plans and instructions as much as I can so that things are a bit more clear when it comes to building.
Similarly research on scale details is on, (mostly on line) and collection of photographs for reference later at building/finishing stages.
Meanwhile here are some more pictures of the plan

This time the Wings and other flying surfaces
1. The upper and lower wing halves, you have to reverse the plans to build the other side
2. The tailplane details. If you observe it would be apparent that the tail is non scale, i.e. it has flat surfaces instead of aerofoiled surfaces. This would be modified to a more scale  construction by using the sheet core method. Plans for Duncan Hutson 1/4 scale Tiggy have been ordered and this kit would be suitably modded with reference to Duncan's plan which is acclaimed as one of the best scale plans at this size
3. Wing aerofoil details. Again the aerofoil is slightly undercambered just like the full size Tiggy
4. Details on the interplane struts (lot of mods required here to make the fittings and fixtures appear scale)
5. Rigging attachment details. All the flying and landing wires on this model are going to be functional, i.e. load bearing and would have to be measured and fixed very carefully while building. After all these wires are the ones that is going to keep everything together to keep the model flying

So here we go with some more info for the interested souls.
This time lets 'ave a look at the supplied instructions
Here are a few pictures of the pictorial instructions which come in the kit. If one was expecting something like glue Former F2 to fuse side S1 sort of instruction which generally accompanies Great planes and other American kits , sorry blokes the mfrs assume that you already have a few kits under your belt and such instructions are not for you.
In fairness I should also say there are some brief written instructions as well, but not something like present builders expect.
Have a look and judge for yourself
