Not an ideal landing approach but not bad either. Sometimes it's best to take the opportunity and not abort, go around, and aim for perfection. This is why...

Pilot error! If you try a turn on a warbird at stall (or below) speed you are asking for a tip stall

All happened very quickly so I wouldn't hold it against him. He contacted me yesterday and shared that it was all fixed within a week of the crash. I should see it fly again next Spring !
