Title: What battery does an igniter use?
Post by: Tarun Joseph on July 01, 2021, 01:00:31 PM
Guys i recently bought a glow plug igniter but it came without a battery (already mentioned by seller)
This is the igniter: https://xceedrc.com/shop-usd/ols/products/xn-105208-glow-plug-starter-4600-mah-with-indicator

Could anyone please help me find the name for that particular battery

Thank you  :hatsoff:

I don't know what you mean by "name"

If you wish to find a suitable battery for the igniter, first identify the size

You could refer the chart for cylindrical batteries below. Probably a C or D

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_battery_sizes

After that, select the type of battery depending on the usage. If it's only occasional, go for a dry cell like Duracell. If it is frequent, go for a NiMH rechargeable - you will need a charger too

It is a size C battery. Available online from Amazon .in . Use alkaline type or any rechargeable type.  The length of C size is same as AA size ( easily available) only the diameter of C size is more, so you can make or buy an adopter to use AA size also. Current matters in an glow plug igniter so make sure it is of high mah.
