After a recent crash, my belt cpv2 blades are not tracking at all :headscratch:

Have tried the usual linkage adjustments, several pair of wood blades, replacing the head, main shaft, feathering shaft, blade holder, true blood dampners, main gears and what not, ---it just doesn't track!!! Ensured that flybar is straight and dandy as well.

Apparently, the only thing that remains to be replaced is the frame  :-\

Out of ideas now :(
Dunno what I could be missing

:help:
Meanwhile, I will dine on the finless videos once again

Finless videos won't help on this one, >:D

First of all I need some clarifications:-

1. Did you try all woodies or any carbon fiber or fiber glass blades?

2. do you have a plastic head, a complete metal head or mix and match?

Thanks

hi mate,
are you using the 'stock' esky blades? these are basicly rubbish......
or proprietary blades ie trex 450 '325 woodies' ?
cheap blades will be very difficult to track.

Yep, try with a set of good quality blades (non-wood ones, at least for trial), as you seem to have tried pretty much everything else.

Yes, I've already tried with an align pair of woodies and another pair of carbon blades. No improvement. It doesn't look like a blade problem, 'cos I stock blades well and tried most of them. Got fiber glass also with me, but didn't try that since I felt it may not be a blade problem as the aligns or the carbon blades didn't improve it.
Head and tail are plastic(got spares too since I like to crash  ;D), got metal spare as well, but haven't put em on yet.

Interestingly, I've had crashes before but the heli has never behaved this way when it comes to tracking.

Read some vague descriptions at places where belt cp exhibits such behavior even after applying all the usual ointments Aargh >:(
These are times when I realise that there is no comparison between my align bird and my belt cp. Will spend time again this weekend.
Any more thoughts that I could use?

@Ajay what was the actual damage when you encounter the recent crash after you are facing tracking issue ?

What parts you have changed?

I broke my blades, bent the flybar and broke the balancing Pole Mount.

Replaced all of 'em with new stuff, adjusted links(which is all I have to usually do  :headscratch:) and after I saw it still ain't tracking,  every other part I could think of was replaced.

Have you checked whether "O Ring" for blade holder is fine?

Tried with stock as well as true blood dampners-result same

hi mate,
try new blade grips and bearings the crashed ones may be distorted.
how far out is the tracking??
check the head hub very carefully, they have been known to break just below the feathering shaft.

Hi

Does it have a fearthering spindle on it. Normally this is the one to change in a crash apart from the things that you physically see damaged.

Hellyflyer

considering the facts

1. you are using wooden blades

2. plastic head

make sure of the following:-

1. Replace feathering shaft

2. check for any loose screw on the balancing pole with the head.

3. make sure your flybar paddles are in line and tight and that flybar is centered

if you have already done the above then just replace the blades and it should be fine.

Thanks

Folks, looks like we cuffed the culprit. The balancing Pole Mount I replaced after the crash seems to have a manufacturing defect.

The projections of the pole mount(where the Bell control arms go in) seem to be of different diameter on either side, so the control arm on the thicker side hug very tightly,  pulling the flybar along with it on adding pitch. I tested this out with the motor unplugged and saw that only one blade holder budges on giving throttle.
So there is total play on the side where the seating is loose, whereas there is no play on the other side where it is tight. This means that on giving throttle, the pitch changes on only one blade, making it spin differently than the other.

I can't be certain until I try with a different pole mount though and unfortunately I've run out of stock on that  :(

Meanwhile, this weekend has been a very bad one for me, 'cos I had the first crash of my trex 500.
Got greedy and wanted to have one last flight, before darkness fell. Couldn't precisely place the edge of one coconut tree(I'm back in India for a while) in our compound and the main blades made a swipe, and then they struck the tail boom. Damages seem to be totaled main blades, chipped tail blades, TT front gear set, bent tail boom, one brace, bent feathering shaft :'(
