Note that the dual antennas of the Futaba FASST receiver have been secured in different directions for maximum "antenna diversity" (this is important as it affects range).

The "ferrite ring" through which the wires from the ESC to the receiver has been coiled (4 turns), helps reduce glitches.

Also note the use of spiral wrap and cable-ties to secure all wires of the servos and gyro.  This is important as it prevents the wires from getting into rotating gears, and from being cut when rubbing against the sharp edges of the carbon fibre frames.

What size of heli are you interested in ? All these models and more are available from dealers right here in India.

Hi rotor.
At present it's hard to find a 500 size electric heli of reputed brands in any of the indian rc online stores.(ofcourse with the exception of atom 500 at rotorzone.com).if im not wrong Anwar's bird seems to be the 'trex 500 esp superpro'.i have eyeballed it many a times on foreign sites.hope the indian stores will stock them too in near future.

When there is Atom 500 available, why do you need another 500  8-)  ;)

Seriously you should check out the feedback in international forums from the people who have flown both Atom 500 and Trex 500.

I have flown both, but no 3D on the Atom.  I would rate them almost equal.

The Trex 500 ESP had a torque tube, while the Atom was belt driven.  So for me, the Trex 500 felt slightly better; even that I cannot say with conviction until I tried some 3D on the Atom too.

A significant number of reviews rate the Atom as the better one.

Looking forward to your comments after you try 3D. The kind of the maneuvers that tend to bog the head on a trex 500. I don't mean collective pumping, but the ones that needs cyclic.

Belt has its advantages. It doesn't get damaged as easily as a torque tube in a crash or bad landing. And it is cheaper. The reason Trex 500 went with TT is to avoid static issues. Atom 500 solved that using a larger dia tail boom.

U r right but availability of spares is of great concern while investing in a heli.i think u'll agree, for brands like Align and thunder tiger, the availability of spares is not a problem.peace of mind.nothing against the atom though.it obviously got to be a great machine,as u and Anwar,as also many others in various forums speak so highly of it.
BTW till when is the promotional price of the atom on rotorzone site valid?

I think you will stand better chances of getting Atom parts with RotorZone/Rajesh, than finding parts for Align in India  (Rotor Chennai has some)  ;)

BTW, the 500 class of helis are not the best when it comes to flight time per battery, so plan on getting two batteries at least.  Not sure about the Atom, but the Trex 500 would last only 4 to 5 minutes of 3D, and 5 to 7 minutes of normal flight.

Good question, even I don't know. We have been talking about end date, so it is not very far off but haven't made a final decision yet. To be fair, we will give atleast 2 weeks notice on our website before the offer ends.

About the parts, our parts are in stock in India  :)
