Yes.. people are excited about this.  Proves again the CCPM is the way to go (if you are into 3D). 

Sad thing is that Thunder Tiger took forever to do this, as they were the champs (based on a mix of quality and price) for RC helis earlier; until Align burst into the scene.

Hi

I love Raptor be it 30, .50 or .90 size

the Raptors always fly and they are a lot easier to keep in the air compared to the Trex as far as tinkering with. I have no opinion on this as I don't own a Trex. Somtimes I feel like I don't rate because I don't have a Trex but I don't feel so bad when I am walking up to the flying line with my Rappy and they have their Trex scattered in pieces across the table working on it..

Coming back to the topic, i hope with ccpm in TT heli they will rise again to the top.

I guess the true opinion should come from some one who has owned both for some time.  One thing is for sure, people who Trex models tend to fly aggressively, because they can trust their machines better to do aggressive flying.  And if those are not built well, or due to "dumb thumbing", they tend to hit the dirt a lot often.  Crashes are a pretty bad metric for quality, unless you can tie them back to mechanical failures.

I hope you try a Trex (or other helis which are better than Raptor and the Trex) some day, so that you may feel the difference Wink 

If you are doing circuits alone, I don't see any reason why a Trex should be in pieces.  I fly pretty aggressively on the Trex 600, but have crashed only once in the past year and half.  I cannot imagine doing some of the moves on a Raptor 50 or even a 90.  I tried tic-tocs on a Raptor 90 once, and immediately had a minor boom strike (heard the sound, landed and saw the slight depression on the boom, luckily no crash).  It could be a badly built heli for all it matters, but sort of set the impression for me Sad

From the video of the X50, it seems like it may clear some of the apprehension ! Thumbs Up

And then there are a lot of people who think Align is cheap and crap Wink  They do not talk about Raptors at all though !

Ya right that true opinion should come from a person who owns both.

People in our field own both. I have seen Mr. N. Adarsh doing 3d on his rappy 90 n it does very well.

All the experienced flyers here say few things :
T-Rex 700,  defiantly looks to be a faster more responsive, precise lighter machine that is made for 3D only.

The TT90se has more of a locked in feeling and is more stable! The trex 700 is a hair quicker and you will be working on it more than you will fly it.

Also, the raptors are said to have a better build quality.

Still Mr.Anwar being a senior flyer having flown both knows better... Grin

Neway, I just welcome the step taken by the TT corp. for bringing  this machine out.

With raptor going CCPM, then probably now even raptor owners need to spend more time fixing? Wink
BTW N Adarsh sold his raptor 90.

Yeah, we need someone who has tried both.
I have been using Thunder Tiger engines for over 10 years now ( bought my first TT 46 PRO in 2000 ) , and they have performed superbly !
Now that I am into Helis, I have found top notch quality with the Raptor 50 Titan, I just built. Even the mini Titan was very very solid. Very satisfied with TT, and hopefully the Raptor X50 would be my next 3D bird . Till that time, i need to practise, practise and practise on my Titan.

I am really a novice to comment on this, but somehow I havent been yet able to figure out the "real" advantages of CCPM. Cost of servos is OK, but isnt CCPM more complicated ? Somehow i felt nice seeing the single servo moving the entire collective. No need to work out the swash interactions and such. Plus the heli goes exactly straight up and down. I am sure the CCPM would also do this, but then it does take a lot of additional work in setting things up ?
But since, all experts seem to prefer CCPM, i guess that must be the way to go !

It is clearly a setup issue. What happens with a Trex is that you can set it up for lazy smooth response (smaller pitch range and less CCPM aileron and elevator movement via the Swash AFR menu), OR for quick 3D.  It is certainly not made for 3D only, as long as you know how to set one up for whatever style of flying you want to do.

The TT90se has more of a locked in feeling and is more stable! The trex 700 is a hair quicker and you will be working on it more than you will fly it.

Same as above... on the locked in feel part.  And I do not see where the "working on it more than you will fly it" is coming from.  I have not really touched my Trex 600 setup for months now, even though it is my primary machine.  Again, it looks like usage/setup/pilot issues, if any Head Scratching

Also, the raptors are said to have a better build quality.

Depends on what you compare with.  If you take a Raptor 90SE 3D with metal head etc, and compare it with a Trex 700 LE, there seems to be not much to be desired for (changes or upgrades) in either case (but there is a difference in how they fly).

Most people move out of raptors for the simple reason that they are mCCPM instead of eCCPM, hopefully the X50 will change that. 

True comparison should come from someone who has OWNED both *for some time* (not just flown either once or twice).  And I sure do NOT qualify for that Wink
