It's a 480 size Helicopter . Not like the stretch ALIGN or Other . All Different ! And All BELT.

-TGY 306HV Servos for Cyclics and Tail

-Main Rotor Spin Blades
-Tail Rotor Edge Blades

The Build Won't be fast , Quite a time consuming Build . As you can see the No. of parts
The Manual comes in a PenDrive .

It comes with a 16T Pinion But I'll be running on a 18T.

I'll do a maiden

So after these days I actually started the build . I'll be slow cause i still got exams comin through .

So the kit comes with a Pendrive with Manual and Time-Lapse video inside which is pretty cool.
And this Heli is special to me .
Starting with the head which doesn't have feathering shaft  But definitely still got the bearing and Thrust bearing .

The screws were oily , so I used Acetone for cleaning them





HEAD Assembly





The bearing and thrust bearing comes preinstalled but suggested to take out and grease them
Do check the Manual for re-installing . Few Guys required sanding of the hub for smooth movement .
Also the blade grips have play which has nothing to worry . Totally normal

 

The Swash Feels heavy . No play at all but required little Oiling on the bearing .
The linkage balls are pre-thredlocked .





The DFC linkage needs to be Measured and installed according to the manual .
Requires ball link resizer or just take them out and install again and again. Will make them smooth

Then the Tail Assembly now . I missed clicking many times .
There is 1mm Gap in-between the Tail Case Frame which is okay-okay after assembly . Can't notice









Now had to pass the belt through the Boom

Now the Cyclic servos installation .

The Belt Tightener
Comes Pre-installed but needs thread lock
Will install later while doing the frame.

Main Drive Gear Assembly

Motor Installation
Need to use the motor center tool to avoid rubbing with motor mount .
Also at this point , need to do exactly as manual says.

Starting the Frame.
Note the elevator installation . I did make mistake while installing .

Installed the Gyro and RX .
I have installed the DMSS Rx Already . My new Transmitter is in transit so already bought the rx from RcDhamaka. Might get the tx in 10 days . Hope so

Big mistake is that i should have bought the 6ch not the 8ch But still its fine .

Does CF Conducts Electricity ? 

Need to put more heatshrink on the bullet connectors . Some part is touching CF frame

And will ground the boom.

CF does conduct electricity, be careful!

So Finally did the Maiden Today . Did 6 flights .
The first two flight had few issues , Required I and P gain Tail Tweaking . And the cyclic gain too .
Made the 3rd flight video . Will upload soon . Till now feels awesome

I see that you use VBAR and now on this heli you have used KBAR.Since the kBAR is a clone of VBAR how different are they?and how does each one fly against the Align 3gx??

I got VBar installed on Gaui X5 and 6Hv . KBar on warp just for testing the reliability and tight budget .

First of all , KBar and Vbar gives almost same performance but can't say 100% as i haven't tested vbar on the same bird (Warp).

VBar doesn't come with PRO software . It comes with Express software . Need to pay extra 40 USD for Pro software .
KBar does come with Pro software pre-installed .


VBar price = 220 + 40 USD
KBar price = 50 USD



As compared to ALIGN 3GX , There's Night and day difference between them .  
VBar are rock solid as compared to 3gx .

I haven't tested the latest firmware of the 3gx but i'm definitely sure it won't be better then VBAR.



If you already got the 3Gx , then try it out . Then fly VBAR if any of your local friend got one .

Note : Once you fly vbar , You will never go back to 3Gx again  


I suggest , don't go for Kbar when you are flying big and Expensive choppers .
Cause during troubleshooting the chopper , You will always have doubt on KBar .

It does perform great but personal suggestion

Are you flying the full size Vbar or the mini vbar on your Guai???

Hey Dhruva.I see many brands of helicopters in your hangar..Guai,Compass etc.Did you get them online or was it a personal pickup.Suggest a reliable site with reasonable price and shipping charges for importing helicopter  kits.Iam looking really hard at Guai x4 ii/Guai X5 available at Rc711 and Flyinghobby.com (i use this site,only small electronics and stuff.)How is Helidirect.Will the shipping charges be substantially higher compared to Asian sites to be something of an issue?

All of them are bought online .
Gaui helis can be bought from Flyinghobby and infinity-hobby . Both of them give good price .
Gaui helis ain't available on 711

Forget about HELIDIRECT now , They won't undervalue !!

Choose Gaui x4 ii over X5 .

X4ii can be stretched to X5 with 520mm blades .

Batteries are safe in X4 during a crash and are more upgraded . Even a 5000Mah batteries go inside X4.

great choice u got there ....its become impossible to order from helidirect or any usa based site cause of their new customs law as they are forced to attach retail MRP invoice which will be very bad when it lands here dhl ups anythign ...now only options are UK and Asian sites flying hobby is good ....so is rc711 but they are a big pain when it comes to shipping as they never stock anything almost all stuff is like  preorder except for some things ....ur good to go with flying hobby ,hawk -rc ,fast lad performance uk ,and other stores .....

That's very encouraging news indeed {:)}would have preferred to buy from LHS but no option other than Align.Bought 4 Align Helis from RCD.Good helis and great price but now feel like trying something else..Although still no 3d but I have given into this addiction...

nabam if u intend for a 500 size go for the gaui X4II ,Compass Atom 500.....but if u own a 450 size heli swinging 350-360mm blades i suggest dont go for any 500 size cause feel is similar if not same as a 500 ...then u better up ur game n go for a 550 ...synergy E5,kds Agile ,goblin 570 very sturdy helis plus all of the above can be stretched to 600 size if needed

Many thanks Shannon for the suggestions.I do have an align 550 dfc.was looking to fill the gap between the 450 and 550 and then who knows,a day might come when i pull the trigger on a 700. but having heard your views on the similarity of the feel of a 480 and a 500, might as well check out the suggested models.Goblin i feel is grossly unjustified at this stage of my flying..cost vs skill  :giggle:i.e.will check the others.i guess two 550s of different makes won't hurt..i could also share the electronics and Lipos

yup synergy is good so is agile .....once u get any of these u will c a vast difference in quality between them and align ....also if u want a good gyro i recomment ,bavarian demon,skookum,brain....vbar too i know am using it but for some reason its the feel of vbar that i dont like sooo much its very good but idk wats with me not liking the feel ....beastx is also very good i love how the tail feels on a beastx ....bavarian ,skookum will give u a really tight feel if u like tht feel u can get them ....
