Title: Dominator 450 l doubt...
Post by: nabam on July 22, 2014, 01:33:15 AM
Hi helipros..
I am trying to build the trex 450 l dominator 6s version.Iam thinking of using the Savox 0257 for the cyclics and the align ds 520 for the rudder from my 450 dfc pro.The motor is the Align 460 mx 1700 kv.The lipos are Nanotech 1.3 mah 6s from Hobbyking. Now Iam stuck on the ESC.Had ordered a CC Phoenix ice 2 HV 60 from Flyinghobby.com without knowing it has no internal BEC.Please suggest a good esc or a bec if I have to go with the CC Phoenix.Btw I do have a spare CC Talon 90.Will it be too heavy for the 480 size dominator. Also need suggestions on the choice of Servos. Will they work?

BTW The fbl unit is a 3gx with Jr xg8 and 8 channel receiver.please share your thoughts.

Regards
Nabam

Savox 0257 servos looks quite slow.
Get the TGY-306 HV servos . These are the MKS clones . Brilliant servos.

The ESC is fine . CC 10 amp Bec will be good .

I am using 450l from my experience
The stock
Motor 460mx ESC 45 amp all cyclic servo are not good
ESC n motor gets very hot after 1 min flight
Within a week two servos got burnt

Thanks Dhruva for the suggestions.Had gone the Savox way because of the 30 oz-in of torque it generated.it's even more than the stock align servos of the dominatorone more thing,if the Phoenix ice 2 HV Will be ok,then there is no reason why the talon 90 won't work as weight wise both are almost identical.

Great !
Just as a precaution , once you receive the servo , open back of the servo  and put some tape to insulate the servo and avoid short circuit.

They sometime comes insulated and sometimes not !

Here's a vid with Yep and TGY 306 installed

Recived the order of K bar gyro from RC Bazaar today but it didnt come with a software CD.Just the gyro,Usb connector and the three wires. No manual even. Now how am i to go about using it.I understand that it is a clone of the Mini Vbar,so can the software of the mini vbar used to programme the Kbar. :headscratch:.I believe it cant be used without prior set up on the PC or am i missing something??Can it be used just like that?PnP :giggle:I saw some YT videos of the setup of MiniVbar where the particular model of the heli is to be selected as presets. That and the whole lot of other programming is impossible without the software ???I do understand that it being a clone ,its firmware cannot be ugraded ,as also stated in the RCB website but what about the initial setup??? :banghead:

Yes original mikado software can be used with KBar .
Just keep in mind not to update the firmware what ever happens . It will brick the unit .

You need to go to mikado website , Register yourself and then download the 5.3 software (The latest one )

If any help you need i'll be happy to help . My phone number - 8454071158
