Hello all, I am new to this hobby and started building my first Heli which is HK 250 GT. Already got all the parts to assemble Grin.

Need some expert advice on my way to build this magnificent mechanical device. Grin

When I checked the base plate and landing skid, I noticed it is not perfectly balanced. One end of the landing skid is little bit higher than the other. After mounting my frame on the base plate I can clearly see the Heli to be little bit tilted to the left Head Scratching. Will it work or I have to balance it perfectly?  Help Me Help Me

If I have to balance it perfectly, any idea of how to do it? It is all made of plastic. Help Me

Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Grin

Hi Raja
I am sorry to sound negative, but your choice of a 250 size heli as you first, is perhaps too ambitious. The 250 is a nippy little bird, difficult to keep under control. The HK 250 is also not very reliable in terms of its plastic parts, especially the tail rotor assembly. The links snap easily. For a beginner, even a 450 is a tough proposition. I do hope you have spent enough hours on a sim atleast before embarking on this build. Further, if the skids are not level, you will have the heli tilting to one side on take-off. This will compound your problems.
Pl do wait for some of the more experienced members to respond to your mail before you go further.

Thanks Pradeep for your concern. After I got the parts for the heli, even I thought of the same thing. Most of the parts are plastic. I should have gone with 450. But now I have it, so I have to move with it Grin. Yes, I practiced a lot with Sim.
About the skid, your thought is right, the heli is tilted to one side. I want to know, will it create any problem while take-off? Help Me

Eagerly waiting for any seiner members to respond Help Me Help Me.

It doesn't matter much. But if it is your first time with a heli you might want to reduce the unnecessary distractions. It will likely rock on the skids when you start the spool up until the blades align themselves. If you have training gear, don't worry about the skids, go ahead with your build.

Thanks for the info. I fixed the skid by adjusting the legs. It doesn't matter anymore as I decided to sell this. It is really pity that I have leave the assembly at half and sell it but due to the recent change in my work schedule, i am unable to give proper time and dedication. Bang Head Bang Head Bang Head
